socalcommuter
It is so easy to test ride any European bike at all the dealerships I have been to that sell them. They encourage me to take a long ride anywhere. Yamaha I suppose has special event days scheduled when someone can do a (worthless) escorted ride for a couple miles. Post the name and location of a Yamaha dealership you know of that has a FJ-09 available for a real test ride. Perhaps this will be the shortest thread in the entire FJ-09.ORG forum. winifredbarkle
Yeah, the sales guy at Triumph was mildly offended that I wouldn't take the Striple out for a test run when I was just in to kick tires one day. I went in looking for a Tiger 800 which was out of stock. I didn't want to get into a "you break it you buy it" situation with the Striple lol. Good luck finding the same offer at a Yamaha or Kawi dealer.
migolito
So far, none of my local dealers have it. The Yamaha website is useless to find dealers that offer test rides. BTW, no such thing as :you broke it, you buy it" short of signing a contract stating so. More like a " I crashed your bike, I'm sueing you for injuries..." However, my local dealer said they would be offering test rides for the FJ-09 and Versys 1000 (this dealership sold both brands). I asked why for those bikes, they said since they are new models they will offer test rides in the beginning. *thumbs up*

Yamaha does have an "events" schedule on it's site that shows demos, usually at a big gatherings, but sometimes at specific dealers. They probably don't have it updated for 2015 since it's only December. I'd check back there periodically. You could always get a list of dealers from the site and just call the ones at increasing distance from your home. I've done that before and it doesn't take long. mjh937
I know Yamaha has published some demo truck visits for next year as my local dealership sent me an email that they had a visit in May. I am planning on being there to ride the FJ-09 and the FZ-09 while I am there.

I was a little surprised to hear of such a late ETA.
