suncoaster
No, I cut one off and replaced with spade connectors. When I find a source for SAE connectors I'll use those instead.
docsimple
I bought the linked ones. Even though they dont fit the supplied spades work with the existing connector making it work without cutting. 2015 Red FJ 09 2013 WR250R - little boy blue - sold 2012 DL650 V Strom - sold 2007 FZ6 - sold 1986 FJ600 - sold
desertfjr
I contacted Cypress today. They referred me back to my dealer who is checking with the tech folks at Yamaha to find out the exact model number for the black and ivory connectors. Should that fail I am going to buy the accessory cigarette light style power tap for the right side and cut the tail off to use with my GPS. I am going to use the MT090 connector for the trigger for my fuse block relay to power everything else. My KnuckleGuards are going to be wired directly into the existing turn signal harness with the proper connectors acquired at CycleTerminals. kd7vdb
This is the connector needed for the weather tight connectors. http://www.ebay.com/itm/221495984178?_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT I just finished installing a usb charger into the right side 12v power hole. My only gripe was that I had to sand the inside of the hole because the fit was too tight by about 1/16". Oh and here is the USB charger. Much less expensive than buying from one of our vendors here. http://www.ebay.com/itm/371493426611?_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
cbr600
Since I just paid eBay price for that connector, I should return the favor http://www.cycleterminal.com/mt-series-090.html

Does anyone know which one works best for the spare ignition male connector? The first two options seem identical?
cbr600
I don't have the diagram with me but based on previous posts all connections are 2 amps. Assuming they all get activated the same way (accessories vs lights), it's a personal preference. I am going with the gray connectors since I found them and it makes a clean install. It also leaves the option open for a second lighter adapter.
docsimple
just fyi, I used that wiring for a few accessories and paid the price. I keep blowing the 2 amp fuses. Premium Member jjb Posted June 14, 2016 Premium Member Share Posted June 14, 2016 Docsimple, I calculated load on 2x10W fog lamps as around 1.7A but replaced the 2A aux fuses with 7.5A ones as read elsewhere to minimize the chance of them blowing. Would you consider doing that to solve your fuse problem and if not, what do you consider the risks to be?

It is not designed to protect the end device consuming the power. The risks are damaging the wires and connectors, melting, or even a fire. I wouldn't replace a 2A fuse with a 7.5A one as there is some reason Yamaha used a 2A fuse in the first place.

I would up the fuse to 3A as there is going to be some redundancy but upping the fuse to 7.5A is asking for trouble... caferacer
Since I just paid eBay price for that connector, I should return the favor http://www.cycleterminal.com/mt-series-090.html " class="smile" contenteditable="false" text="" FYI for anyone considering ordering, the female connectors at this link do not work with the spare (black/ignition turned on, engine doesn't have to run) ignition outlet. The two-pin accessory (gray/engine running) may work, but the link desertfjr posted further up looks like a better match. Was able to use the spades and McGyver a workaround for ignition still...just not plug n play!
cbr600
Good point. The MT-090 is meant for the gray connector. I reused the gray connector but used the terminals and seals from the eBay kit I purchased.
Premium Member 2and3cylinders Posted July 6, 2016 Premium Member Share Posted July 6, 2016 I've been waiting for my OEM Shop Manual but in the interim I've been proceeding with several mods. Are the 4 accessory plugs referenced and shown accessible by removing the wind screen assembly or instrument panel (the latter would seem more involved)? Thx Never mind, I found and visited this link http://dzell.net/manual/led-manual.html and now understand. Still a PITA
