Rode a Tracer 900 GT about  a year ago but ended up buying a '17 Ducati Multistrada 950 instead.  Ergos, handing and power were great (for me) on the Duc but had to travel either an hour to San Antonio or 2 hrs to Austin if service was needed.  Ended up trading the Ducati today for a 2020 900 GT at the local dealer and took the long way home from the dealership.  Future plans: new wind screen, crash bars (put Heed brand on the Multistrada and was pleased w/ looks & protection), Chinese FJR pegs, tail tidy, and have seat redone.  Was looking at the flat black finish on pannier lids and thinking that they'd look great if painted the burnt orange/red color like the panels.  Will be researching what others have done and then spend, spend, spend!

I’m pleased so far with the mid-size VStream.  Let me know what you come up with for options on the lids.  I’d like to find some matching tape to that found on the fairing.   As for the tail tidy, I’m not sure but think I read somewhere that some may not be compatible with the luggage system if you plan to add a rear rack/tail trunk.

Thanks everyone for the welcome.  Rod, I'm using a Nelson-Rigg tail bag and don't have plans to mount a rear rack/tail trunk.

Took a 200 mile ride in the Texas hill country today and here's my observations so far (6 ft tall, 209 lbs, long upper torso):

Engine pulls good, smooth shifting on the transmission (only used the quickshifter 2 or 3 times going to 6th gear), easy to zip through the twisties, dash display (despite being small) is easy to view while riding, stock tires had good grip even when in the turns over tar strips.

Nitpicks -  wish that the brakes had more grab/bite, after 200 miles my ass & the seat weren't friends anymore, could hear music via the Sena streaming through Shoei Multitec ll helmet (have bad hearing) but need a better windscreen - trying to decide between medium size VStream or 24" Madstad, miss the extra suspension travel of the Super Tenere & Multistrada.

Ed, did you feel crowded compared to the Multistrada?  I can tell some difference to the Versys 1000, but not bad at all.  I did rotate the bar supports and that opens things up a bit.  I too like the TFT display (got used to how nice they are on the Versys).

this winter send your seat in to Terry at Terry's custom seats in Tennessee...he'll be the Dr. Phill to your ass and seat....lol

Stumpy, I had Terry redo the seat on my Super Tenere on a ride-in appt.  Nice guy who is meticulous w/ his work.  After a few hundred miles found the foam to be too soft and felt like the wings were collapsing.  Ended up w/ a used Russell (nirvana!).  I had Seth Laam redo the seats on my FJR and Ducati Multistrada and will have him fix the Tracer seat.

Rod, the Multistrada 950 had perfect ergos for me.  The Tracer is a little more "compact" but I had adapted by the end of the ride today.

I have a Terry Adcox seat and could not be more pleased.  I can drain the tank in one sitting in comfort.  I recently had to use the interstate to make time on a long ride home.  Set the cruise control and went 160 miles and my backside never bothered me.......but my bladder barely held on as it reached critical mass.

There is nothing like spending a day riding with friends in the grip of a shared obsession.
