Change angle of V-stream

I have a V-Stream Sport, came on my bike used. I have nothing to compare it to. Maybe ignorance is bliss.

I want to angle it more towards me. Less upright. Has anyone shimed or bent the mounting hardware to do this?

Since all V-Stream sizes mount the same it applies.

I’ve shimmed mine with washers. Didn’t do anything for me. I think to get any noticeable difference, you’ll need enough shims to require longer bolts, and then you might want to bend the bracket to avoid weird gaps/pressure points.

I took it all apart, bent the bracket a bit, machined top spacers thinner, and shimed the bottom mounts. It at least looks better. Follows the angles of the bike instead of looking like a tombstone sticking straight up.
