I think it may have something to do with how vehicles are registered when new . i.e. a friend of mine bought an old stock ST1300 that was 4 or 5 years old when he registered it new ,in some countries I think it would have to registered as 4 years old even though never registered . It seems to be an anomaly in certain countries.

Supporting Member maximNikenGT Posted September 12, 2021 Author Supporting Member Share Posted September 12, 2021 Saw this posted on Youtube which appears to be a 2021 Niken produced as recently as May 2021 in the Japan market. Can anyone read the label in Japanese at the 0:43 second mark to confirm what I think it says? 2019 Niken GT "Motorcycles - the brand is not important, the fact that you ride is." Sparkles
Howdy! Just signed up as I recently picked up a "new" 2019 GT here in the states and #0167. Still waiting for it to be shipped down to Texas. I'm told that it was Yamaha's show bike and the final one sent to any US dealer (Aug, 2021). Paperwork from Yamaha seems to confirm as much.
