Hi, I have 2018 R1M rotors, MC, and Calipers on my FJ09.

It's time to replace the pads.

Which one?
I can't find a definitive explanation.

Thanks

Ok... now I’m intrigued.   What was the effort to mount the R1 calipers on the FJ?  I’m running the 320mm R1 rotors, but still have the stock FJ calipers with appropriate spacers.   The idea of a caliper upgrade is very appealing, as I suspect that’s the weakest link in the stock FJ braking system.

I'm dying to hear about this too.

Hi,

Caliper upgrade....

Really, I don't know if it is a real upgrade.

Maybe bling/vanity...

The R1M calipers are a lovely bronzish color...🙄

I understand the R1M calipers have different puck composition, aluminum instead of steel.

The right caliper bleed screw has an o-ring and seals well for bleeding.

The puck sizes I have not been able to determine if different from the FJ09. Measuring the puck opening, they seem to be the same.

The R1 and FJ09 pads have different part numbers, so.......

In the pattonforme thread I think I was advised that the caliper swap wasn't done, no advantage.

I can say the rotor swap helped.

I want rock solid leverage, great initial bite, and fade free performance.

I don't like a spongy pull, and trying to eliminate that also... Not sure if the abs will allow this.

See ya

bill
