2020 Tracer 900 GT Color Swap [Yamaha Armor Gray]

I imagine this is going to be a bit polarizing, but I had to do what I had to do.

Earlier this year a friend of mine traded in his virtually brand new 2020 Tracer GT with a ton of upgrades including fully upgraded front and rear Race Tech suspension for a BMW scooter (the Tracer was less than 5 months old).  I've been dreaming of the Tracer pretty much ever since I came into possession of a 2016 Kawasaki Versys 650.  Given the Tracer was virtually new, all the upgrades I could ever want, and with a bonus being that Race Tech was already sprung and set up for my weight I just struck while the forge was hot and traded my Versys in for it.

I absolutely love the Tracer, everything I'd hoped it would be and is easily one of my favorite bikes in the garage now.

Here is where things went a little sideways; when I brought it home the wife almost immediately said it didn't look like a bike I would ride.  When I asked her why she said it looked like an old man's bike (😆) and she didn't like the color.  She asked how hard would it be to make it look like my other bikes.  I already owned a 2017 FZ-10 and 2018 MT-07 in "Armor Gray" and knew all the color codes for it, so I took to Photoshop to figure out how I could change the color around and found a painter in my area to execute the plan.

And I present to you what I'm guessing is the first Yamaha Armor Gray Tracer 900 GT:

I do not have any new family portraits yet but here is my FZ-10 side-by-side with the Tracer when I went to pick it up from the shop:

The 10 is now in the shop getting it's 32k service done so once I have all the bikes back home again I'll recreate the first picture with all the Yami's lined up.  I'm also still sourcing the "Tracer 900 GT" decals in black to complete the color swap back into an OEM condition so it's not quit 100% finished.

I like it also. Normally, not a fan of the gray. But against the black tank, this looks superb.  👍

For me, personally, I find the bright yellow wheels a bit much.  But that's just me.  😁

Like betoney said, I am all for making your bike "uniquely yours" -  that's why I might have the only 2020 "Triple Black" GT:

I didn't like the leaf green rims on the FZ-10 when I originally bought it back in 2016 - at all.  In fact it was my first bike that had any kind of color on it.  All prior were monochrome.  Before I even bought it I fully intended to change them to the matte gray on the rest of the bike.  After a while though they grew on me and now I feel like changing it would kinda ruin the charm.

I get where you're coming from though.  This was definitely an acquired taste.

Did either of you that actually changed colors look into buying the parts already painted in factory spec? I am looking to change the plastic panels, but I am having trouble finding the color codes for these panels on the parts websites. This leads me to believe that might even only come primed and ready to paint. Thanks for any responses.
