CRFan250
I was thinking of getting a set of Light Tech chain adjusters for my 900 GT but I was wondering if anyone has tried these and if they fit correctly?
Supporting Member texscottyd Posted April 23, 2021 Supporting Member Share Posted April 23, 2021 Hi @CRFan250 - Both the LightTech and Gilles Tooling chain adjusters seem to be popular with forum members, along with several folks who have tried the Chinese knockoff replicas of the LightTechs. I personally use the Gilles Tooling adjusters, so can’t give you direct feedback on the LightTechs, but you should be able to find some more info from the forum using the search option.

Premium Member keithu Posted April 23, 2021 Premium Member Share Posted April 23, 2021 I think a couple of people have had the adjuster nut fall off the end of the Lightech adjuster, rendering it useless. Or does that only happen to the Chinesium knockoffs? Something to consider. The Gilles adjuster is not prone to such a failure, and it's cheaper. I admit it doesn't look quite as cool as the Lightech unit though.
CRFan250
I am gonna guess that was the knockoff's but I Imagine it's possible. I just like the ratchet mechanism which makes adjustments a a 2 minute affair. Can't find a lot with a search though.....
Premium Member keithu Posted April 23, 2021 Premium Member Share Posted April 23, 2021 Yes their adjustment mechanism looks simple. I think Revzilla stocks Lightech.

Supporting Member dazzler24 Posted April 24, 2021 Supporting Member Share Posted April 24, 2021 I've had the genuine Lightechs (bought second hand) on my 2015 Tracer for over 12months now and am very happy with them. Very easy and accurate to adjust in my experience with audible clicks. You asked about the axle nut fit. TBH, that was something that had me a little concerned at first because the locking 'fins' (not sure what the correct term is) of the nut just seem to engage on the thread of the end of the axle - see my photos below. Having said that, they do engage and I have had no issues. The wheel has been off for a new tyre and I've adjusted the chain on more than one occassion in the time that I've had them. Hope that helps.

I to was a little concerned about the axle nut not fully on the axle so I cut 2mm of the back of the nut just for my piece of mind. regards
