There is but you can move it several mm . Loosen ,align and tighten the bolt . It worked for me . I still have snow and ice in my driveway and the roads are full of gravel . I am jealous of you who can ride almost year round .
That was pretty easy. I had locktite on that bolt from when I had it apart greasing the pivot. I rotated it just a bit and didn’t even break the locktite loose. It just spun a little on its keyway.

My culmination of this winters work-
+1 tooth front sprocket
Seat mod
Taller windscreen
.9 fork springs/ oil change
Spark plugs
Air filter
TB balance
Coolant change
Front Fenda Extenda
I have a block of wood wrapped in a cloth under the back of the tank to hold it up from the low hanging sides from scraping against the plastic side fenders.
I put a hockey puck style chunk of rubber here to keep the tank from resting on the fuel nipple.
And the most impressive thing of all? That I am able to post all these pictures on this forum!!
Im super excited with the plethora of these winter changes I made on this bike! I went for a 100ish mile ride and while everything is subtle the overall effect is awesome and very welcome! The bike is smooth and calm compared to its last summers version. Its going to be a great tourer this summer.
Last night i installed the FJR foot pegs. I had a set of "pull-on" rubber covers from another bike just to try to see if it quells the vibes a bit with the stock pegs and it did. They rotate on the peg a little so I knew they weren't permanant- thus the new foot pegs.
One thing I noticed though- it seems like the left side peg is tilted forward more than the right, just a little.. that might bother me.

Dang, that hasn't been my experience. My Zumo is very steady.
Glad to hear it!
I think the flat metal design is the culprit for me with its vibrating. I have another bike and its rock solid but a completely different design.
I just ordered this to try hoping its rounded edges will give it less flex. This design is more like the one I have on the other bike.

Im starting to see a lot of these Dunlop Mutant tires going on sport/ tourer bikes (more than just this forum). For those of you using them, how is wear life compared to traditional sport tires? These interest me so I dont shy away from some light dirt road riding and miss out on any site seeing while Im out exploring. I def dont want to make this into and ADV bike though.

Well, there won’t be any cutting of the OEM spacers~ the RT springs are shorter than the OEM springs. So I’ll have to add some length. They are supposed to be supplied with aluminum spacer material but none was in the box. Good thing I’m also re-springing another bike at the same time and that one came with spacer material of the proper diameter for this bike as well.
One thing of note- the OEM springs appear to be progressive where the RT springs are linear. -

It’s really not that hard working out spacer length even with generic instructions. It always surprises me that people knock racetech for this. It’s not meant for people that don’t have any idea what they’re doing.
You just want to end up with a spring and spacer length that will squash down to the stated preload.
15mm preload means that your set up should be 15mm longer than the leg closed length.
And yes, oil is different heights as cartridge is only on right leg, left leg only has spring.
What model year are you refering to? My '17 has a spring on both sides.
For those of you that have a spring on both sides, do we have a cart on both sides as well? Equal or uneven oil levels? I have the RT springs and am just starting to work on this now. I have no probelm cutting the OEM spacers- I've had to do that on a couple other bikes as well. Its not all that uncommon.

Did throttle body sync today. Was at 12,000 miles. Took my time and wasn't bad at all. Looked at some videos on Utube. Big help. They were really close. Now I know how to strip the bike and just how to go about it .Going get a new air filter, plugs ,and instal block on plates. To get rid of the air injection system and the stupid hoses on my next teardown
What tool did you use to do the sync?

Those are VERY popular in the track bike world. People reporting they can tell the difference in smooth and accurate shifting. Of course that's a whole different riding style.
Where did you get that from?

Looks like an interesting bike. I wouldn't mind throwing a leg over one. I'm very curious on how it handles it's weigh.

Is everyone still liking their Parabellum windscreen? It seems 24/26" are the common ones? Im 5' 11" and my Givi screen is starting to drive me nuts. I put a spoiler on it just for temp and it was better. Still bad, but better. That tells me I need to go to a bigger screen. I think the issue with the FJ is the angle. Compared to other bikes the FJ has a more rear facing angle making a taller screen, not so tall...

What did you do to your FJ-tracer-gt today?

Recently I finally swapped out GPS mounts. I documented the one I had and didnt like in another thread. Here I changed to this one and the results are a WAY more stable GPS. Along with the mount change I pulled apart the windscreen adjuster and added a small washer just past the shoulder the the adjuster knob giving better clamping force. I think before no matter how hard I tried to tighten the knob the shoulder would prevent it from geting tighter. Now its nice and tight and moves quite a bit less. Im sure that also adds to my more stable GPS. Sorry if this has been beaten to death on this site already.... (but its new to me!)
Also with the GPS-to-bar mount, its a cheap chinese aluminum clamps that I dont really trust all that much so used some fiber grip paste on it so I dont have to run the screws quite so tight and it should prevent stripping and slipping.
