Thanks for the reply. Not sure how you came up with that Ronnie's site but, that's all I was looking for..

Hello - interested in the KTM hand guards but, I can't figure out what type I need or where to get them? Looking for a current model number and/or link to a site. Been riding without the original guards for a while but, it's getting colder and wanted something to guard against the wind. Liked the idea I could use the original hardware to secure on both ends with the stock set up. I live in Nevada. Thanks for the help.

Stopped by the dealer today and spoke with the parts guy. Didn't seem like having it replaced was an issue only the replacement CCT is listed as back ordered until mid September. Guess I'll have to wait, curious to see if anyone else has gotten this response.

I went the S Ten route and thought it was kind of a pain. Took like two weeks to get all the parts from Babbit's Yamaha with $20 shipping. Had to grind both pegs down 5mm as mentioned, I couldn't get the left peg to fit properly with the spring so I gave up and left it in the down position. Bottom line is they were not made to fit this bike but, the first time you get caught in the rain with the stock pegs you'll realize why you need something different. Seems like most pegs are only as strong as the pin that is holding it in place anyway. At some point I'll swap them out for something made for the 09 but, for now they feel pretty good.
OK, what I'm referring to is the part of the peg that surrounds the hole the pin goes through. Had to grind about 5mm off the bottom to get them to fit into the bracket. Not a big deal really. Yes, I drilled out the rivit on the one side to get the stock pegs off, and used the pins that came with the S Ten kit.Can you explain what you had to grind away to mount the super tenere pegs on the fj?
Part of the new peg or did you have to modify the bike (other than grinding off the end of the pin to be able to remove the old peg)?
Is it the part of the new peg that the pin goes through is to "thick" to fit inside the pin bracket on the bike?

Does your bike have side cases? I think the screen looks funny on a bike without them for some reaso. I guess the cases make it feel more touring ish..lolThe only draw back to me is it's huge and I'm not thrilled on how it looks but, I think the way the bike is designed this is the trade-off I'll have to make.
Nope, no side cases on mine. It looks identical to yours w/o cases same color and all. Your probably right it looks more balanced with cases. If you want a sit up riding position I guess there is only so much you can do to block the wind - the taller the screen the more it's going to deflect. I guess I wish it looked more seamless and integrated with all the plastic in the front. I like how Honda made their front end look on the new African Twin (different kind of bike I know) but, even Cycle World has commented how well it pushes the wind aside. It is what it is I guess...the 09 is still a great bike.

Earlier on I went through the windscreen threads and decided on the Parabellum tall screen also. The Vstream had not come out yet and it sounded like the best deal as they included the flyscreen as well. Everyone is different but, I really didn't like riding this bike with the stock screen - too loud and so much buffeting...I felt like they put zero effort into testing that thing. Instead they just threw it on because of how it looked or something. I had a few rides with the flyscreen and it was better then the stocker but, still windy and loud. As things stand now the tall Parabellum is the only screen I want on this bike for most rides, it knocks down 80% of the wind and noise, I can ride with my face shield up and can actually hear the engine and what's going around me. It's stable at speed and inspires confidence. The only draw back to me is it's huge and I'm not thrilled on how it looks but, I think the way the bike is designed this is the trade-off I'll have to make. Do I care more about how it looks or how it feels when I'm riding? Not really a choice in the grand scheme. Parabellum did a great job with the packaging, shipping, solid directions and all the pieces I needed - great product.
Anyone fitted any alternative hand guards
