Ohlins shock has arrived! I have no way of verifying, But David at FBI says that it's the first of its kind in the US.
Wow, it looks awesome. And has the remote, Pre-Load adjuster. You probably are the first.
I was chatting with David at FBI, and we were going back & forth on the Ohlins. I was ready to plunk down my cash, but the shock kept getting delayed. I finally decided to go with the JRI, Double Adjust- because it got good reviews and was available. It has remote Compression, which I can adjust on the fly, but pre-load requires a tool. It's easy, but not as easy as yours!
Let us know how that shiny, gold piece works!

Sure- do some searching and you'll find a lot about the oil pans on the early FJ-09. The "fin" is a low-point and has punctured more than a few oil pans. Using an angle grinder, you can buzz that fin off and replace the drain plug with a flush one, preventing punctures.
In 2016, Yamaha redesigned the oil pan on mid year FJ-09's to prevent further issues.

Beanburnham- yes, as a matter of fact I did. Had to shave a mm off the plastic. You'd think 6yr old kids in China could do better!

The left side is oh-my-gawd-falling-off-a-curb-and-landing-on-my-butt easy. Seriously.
The throttle side is a little more tricky, due to the loop you need to add, to let the throttle move freely. Not that bad, and the post REALLY helps. Just pay close attention to how the throttle cables come off the bike and you'll be fine. They really are plug&play.
Happy Hands.

Too much crap in my garage for the stock, Yamaha bags! The side bags are tucked in nice and tight, but they don't hold much. The top case is big, but oddly shaped and barely hauls my laptop.
I found that I used the heated grips on my Buell a ton more than I thought I would. I must have sensitive hands....
