I think it makes more sense to have a dealer commit to a good price if we send volume their way. They handle shipping and everything. It's getting drop shipped anyway.
Cruzin, can we see if one of us can get an "official fj-09.org dealer" or something?
I dunno. I just think we could get these for $70 delivered or something. Especially if we're moving 20 or 30 of them.
Let's not forget, most dealers get money on the backend for gross sales.

Ok, so they guy is saying they are about $85 each. How do we work out shipping, payment, etc?
Did anyone check with their local stealer? I know these things vary regionally. I saw one person that said their manual was $111...

Er... Scanning a 'legit' version is still copyright infringement. Not sure why you think it wouldn't be.

Probably NJ.

Talked to the stealer, said he can get the manuals for about $85 each. How would shipping work?
-
I'll probably hit the groups and IRC for it eventually, but while I'm a big fan of ebooks, it's hard to use a laptop or ipad while you're working on something. Dunno, maybe it's just me.

I'll talk to my guy at the stealer and see if he's interested in cutting us a deal. How would shipping work? Have the stealer drop ship it?

Does it makes sense to organize a group buy for manuals?

You're such a tease... Break us off with a link!Another cheapy off of fleabay but build quality seems pretty good with these. They look nice and I like the clutch side adjustability.

I just used the mirror to help it in. They're not hard to put on. You can also use the retention nut on the mirror to help tighten it down. Since it's all connected.Just curious but how do you tighten the mirror extender without marring the finish? They don't seem to have place to put a wrench to them. Also, do you know if they my 1" extenders? I think I could get by with slightly less than than a full 2-inches of extension.

Yeah, I saw that. I'm going to keep my eye out for some blem ones on fleabay or gregslist. I'm going to vinyl wrap them anyway to match.
You can buy them from any online Yamaha parts dealer or go to your local shop. Although the price isn't significantly cheaper than the whole damn bag! That's genius. I heard that they were the same backs, but I never knew you could order just the lids.
You get them from the stealer or fleabay or?
I gotta quit coming here, I keep opening up my wallet...

Guys who got red have the added benefit of the FJR bags matching. I have the FJ bags on order, but I might get some FJR bags and wrap them with vinyl to match. $800 is a lot of cheddar to throw down on bags. Especially if you already have some... If my LG helmet fits my buds FJR bags, I might pull the trigger.
Can you fit your helmet in those?

The one on the left side is standard. Comes with the bike. You can add *another* on the right side. I think it's $35 for the part.
I believe it is 12v USA spec. I popped it open the other day, but honestly now you got me thinking. I'm 99% sure it's not the BMW style powerlet ones - which I despise.

I know it's just one small thing, but that's all it take with dealers. These guys go apesh1t over every little thing if they don't have a monopoly in their market.
I'm "in the biz", so I see a lot of this sort of crap everyday.
