Some may say I"m nit picking but within a year of installing the orange ones they have faded to the point of looking almost white. Let me add my bike is stored indoors and I work a midnight shift so bike only sees sunlight on weekend rides and 30 min commute home from work in the morning.
As far as function no issues at all. I did feel more visible especially at night.
I have since taken off my hand guards for better high speed stability on the freeway around large vehicles.

I am really curious to the percentage of bikes with known "positive" failures to bikes with no problems. When I talked with the service departmrnt of the high volume dealer near me they had to look up the SB. They said that they had not replaced any and had no complaints, then offered to order the parts for me if I wanted.
Can someone smarter than me start a poll?

I got to share my opinion here. We all spent our hard earned money on a new bike, we want it right, we just want to ride.
Yamaha realized they still have some problems with the cct and they are trying to produce new updated ones fast as they can. With that said I can only imagine they don't have enough available at the moment to replace every one, on every bike sold. Just as I can only assume the dealers are not ready to be overwhelmed with everybody wanting there cct replaced now. If some bikes are not making noise why change it? Hence why it's a SB not a recall.
If yours is making noise and needs to be replaced do you want to have to wait because someone elses got theres replaced and it wasn't actually making noise or wasn't bad to begin with? I would hope that dealers prioritize parts and labor for bikes as needed.

Thanks for sharing Charlie. I haven't noticed any noise yet but good to know Yamaha is acknowledging problem.

Glad to hear you're back riding. Been there, done that and it's a nice ride, especially for being March.

Ok that would make sense, I didn't think about the arrows bring lit constantly. Thanks.

Thanks Ty, Mirrors have my thinking, running lights also? I have the indicators on the hand guards but I was thinking of ditching the guards, Hummmm? With my holiday time off, i've continued farkling my FJ. Dialed in my Nitron shock upgrade, wow what a difference! Firm but plush as they say, no more jolts on hard edge bumps. Waiting on Andreani fork cartridges to complete suspension work.
Meanwhile, with Lewis's ( ULEWZ )help, flashed my ECU yesterday. Just did some basic things starting with removing the speed limiter. 8D Disabled AIS, set cooling fan cutoff points lower ( 210/200 rather than factory 224/215 ), and played with engine braking settings. Left the fueling alone for now, as I ride in STD mode which always felt fine to me...
Today I installed a Pyramid Fender extender. It comes with little plastic "push rivets" now, instead of just double sided tape. You do have to drill some holes for the rivets, but it's really solid now.
Looks good, and will keep a lot of crap off my radiator. You listening wessie?
Next up, I installed some ebay aftermarket lighted mirrors.
I wired them to my turn signals. Not only are the backs of the mirrors lighted, but the front is too under the glass.
Most visible at night, it looks cool with the arrow shaped pattern. And totally invisible when off , neat!
A little wider than stock so I can see better around my shoulders, the only thing I can nit-pick is that the mounting stem is a little shorter slightly blocking the menu selector rocker switch. No biggie.
Last thing today is a USB cigarette lighter adapter.
It reads out voltage, and amps drawn when you plug something in.
My Garmin pulls .3 Amps it appears.
USB voltmeter bought here: link
Mirrors here: link
Says Ducati in the title, but comes with Yamaha reverse thread adapters. Note: These are clear lenses for max brightness, also made in smoke.

Thanks Clint! Excellent comparison pictures, it looks much better than I expected. Look forward to further review.

Lol, dam dude...just eat a snickers bar.Serious question:
Why do people post that they rode their FJ for "XXX many miles" as something they did to the bike? Technically speaking, its something you did ON, not to.
This thread should be designated for modifications and tinkering only, there is a sub-section for rides. Post that info there if you feel the need. Let's not clog up this awesome thread with bs daily rides you went on.
//end rant
J/k.... I couldn't resist after seeing the commercial with El Machete and the Brady bunch. I love that commercial.

Hey neighbor! Did you notice the link to "members map" at the top of the page?

"Zero Gravity" just shared with me that they have developed 2 windscreens for the FJ-09 one is "short double bubble" screen and the other is a "sport touring" screen. I was told that they hoped to have them up on there web site by next week. I used one of their sport touring screens on my FZ1 and it was an improvement, hopefully it will be help the FJ also.

Sorry I quoted the manual and I can see it might be confusing. No values, just tighten them evenly as you go bolt to bolt. Just don't over torque is the main thing.Thank you jetfixer. The crisscross I understand. Can you detail what values are the stages at? Much appreciated. -
Per the service manual, nuts are torqued 58 ft-lb (80Nm) in stages and in a crisscross pattern.Do you have the torque settings for the bolts on the rear sprocket? -
Looks good Robb. By the way nice looking garage too.
-
Thanks, Much appreciated. I like to hang this in my toolbox so I don't have to look through the manual every time I need a torque value.
-
I'll make it three stars, Thanks for sharing.

Thanks, I could be wrong but your links indicate these fit the sr400 only. ?? Good price though. I've been looking for levers.

Then again the 350 days of nonstop sunshine might have something to do with it.?
