  1. Hi all,
    I have a question that suppose is directed mainly at my Australian counterparts. Is the MT-09 Tracer supposed to be speed limited? I know the American FJ-09 is but been told before I purchased this bike that the Aus version and EU wasn't. Some time back I found a little quiet track so thought I would open it up a little to see if this speed wobble issue was going to effect me if I did a track day with my mates. To my surprise it stopped powering on not much over 180km/hr. Called the dealer who looked into it and said no not limited, they couldn't test it so was up to me to find someone with a dyno to show that it was, I did this as thinking now something might possibly be wrong with my bike only to have my speed limiting suspicions confirmed. Yamaha's response - yes all tracers are limited. A bit of a backflip from Yamaha but has anyone tested or had their bike on a dyno to confirm wether it is or isn't - perhaps my bike is a bit "Special".
    Thanks

  2. Hi kimmie,
    Had the tracer for a while now and done about 6300 kms on it, havent had any trouble with the steering, found it light but hasn't misbehaved. I have softened the front and rear suspension just a little as it was a bit firm for me (70kg). Most of my riding is country so don't get to lean it into the corners as often like you would in the better city roads, even down decently corrugated roads it goes surprisingly well, and a bit of speed helps keep it really smooth. Hope you find a solution.

  3. Hi Fellow Aussie Tracer Riders, firstly AWESOME bike. Congratulations. Just a quick couple of questions;
    1. ECU: the ECU Flash everyone is talking about from Nel at 2wheeldynoworks in the U.S, are you aware of anyone in Aust that can to the same?

    2. Throttle movement: I have just noticed my throttle has movement from left to right about 1cm. Has anyone else experienced this? Is it normal and I just haven't noticed? ( had the bike about a month and 3,500kms)

    Happy Riding. Cheers

    Hi jordo27,
    Dont know about flashing the ECU part but my throttle never had much movement apart from on/off slack which thanks to the forum is about the easiest adjustment to make to give a smooth throttle. Never had any noticable sideways movement.
