    My error

Did you find Motostorm to have competitive prices when shipping is included, fast shipping and good service?

    Is Motorocket out of business?

I recently ordered from Motardinn, similar Euro seller, who seem competitive but it's been over 2 weeks+ and now in the hands of the USPS 😱

It's been six years. All I remember is that I did shop online diligently to find the best prices. I haven't been in touch with Adam at Rocket Moto in many years; no idea if he's still in business.

  2. I'm selling my 2016 Yamaha FJ-09 for the simple reason that I'm getting up there in age and have ridden it only about 300 miles in the past 3 years! When I bought it in 2016 I was commuting daily, 40 miles each way, by motorcycle. But, you know, life changes...

The bike has a lot of options, as shown in the attached list image.

    The major accessories are:

Higdonion skid plate with Blurple cage tubing
    MotoChello 2-rider Audio System
Outback 37-liter side cases with 42-liter top case
    McCruise control
2 Wheel Dyno Works ECU Flash, standard mode
    Pro Oiler automatic chain oiler
    MadStad 20-inch medium gray windscreen
    OEM Heated Grips
    KTM Handguards
    Denali Sound Bomb air horn
Adaptiv TPX Radar Detector (not listed in accessories list image)
Touratech locking mount for Garmin Zumo 665 GPS (also not listed in attached image)
Zumo 665 GPS (also not listed nor shown in photos)

This bike has under 7400 miles on it, is in excellent condition, always garaged, never dropped, well maintained.

I will include all the original parts that were removed when various options were installed (OEM windscreen, etc). I will also throw in various bits and pieces that were involved in the installation process, such as spare wiring, terminals, connectors, etc. I also have more photos available upon request.

Right now it is at my local dealer waiting for the annual service; they are telling me it will be 3-4 weeks due to how busy they are (they are storing it indoors, protected). They will also be installing two new Metzeler Roadtec Z8 Interact tires that I've purchased from Dennis Kirk.

If someone were to want to buy this FJ-09 before the dealer gets around to servicing it and installing the tires, I would lower the price by $300 and include the new tires with it. The service they are planning to perform is: oil & filter, change brake & clutch fluids, change antifreeze, general check of all systems, mount & balance the new tires.

I'm located in Prescott Valley, AZ. I believe the bike could be inspected at the dealer, upon advanced notice through me. I can also meet a prospective buyer at the dealer to show you the bike.

Selling price: $8600, cash only, no trades. If interested please reply via Private Message.

  3. I haven't posted here in ages, and have ridden hardly at all in the past 3 years. But this thread caught my eye and I t hought I'd share photos of my installation of both the Pro Oiler and the McCruise (I also installed the MotoChello audio system about the same time; this was in 2016, right after I bought the bike, a 2016 FJ-09).

I've put several thousand miles on with the oiler and it has worked great for me. I always check that the "." after the "4" on the display goes away once I start rolling, and a couple of times after the bike was in storage for a while I held down the button to manually apply oil, to make sure it was still functioning (it was).

My chain and sprocket continue to look very good, and as noted by Maxim above, they stay cleaner-looking without the buildup of heavy black crud you would normally see.

I'll also say that I use the McCruise control all the time, and I love the way it works-- just like in a car or truck.

  4. For the past 13 years and 90K+ miles I've worn this pair of Alpinestars Web Goretex boots:

As you can see I don't take very good care of their appearance, but they are still fully waterproof and reasonably comfortable walking. I wear them all day at work, since I commute on the FJ.
The only real functional issue is the velcro closure at the top on the right boot. It has lost almost all its holding strength so it always comes undone within a few minutes of fastening it. I need to get the velcro replaced I guess!
However I am also thinking about new boots, which is what led me to this thread in the first place. The Dainese TRQ boots look great, although the Daytona Roadstar GTX have also caught my attention. I appreciate all the input and reviews from the other members of this forum.
