“Feeling weird after some stop and go traffic” is a bit vague.  Have you replaced your clutch cable? You may want to at least disconnect it at both ends so you can move it back and forth and inspect for fraying at both ends before you order parts.
    or just replace it.

haha yes it's pretty vague for sure but it was only a few times it happened and I didn't get chance to really register what was happening.  Just felt like it was slipping and vibrating and I heard a few unusual knocks but felt ok again a couple hours later.  Anyway I ordered the part shark kit and basket so I can get the upgrade done over winter.

    Thanks for the input guys.

  2. hey all, I'm about to order clutch parts.  Last ride it was feeling weird after some stop and go traffic so I figure it's time for some attention and just as well to upgrade.

Based on what I've read on this thread and others, I'll get the Partshark conversion kit and the basket for sure.  I'm also debating getting the plate kit.  There'll be a few extra parts if I get the plate kit but, if there's any chance of my existing plates being damaged or worn, I'd just as soon have all the parts on hand when I open it up.  Any thoughts on that plan before I press the button?

Not at all... was pretty easy indeed! Just pushing the footpeg mount, putting the pin, and done.

I think I received 2 right side mounts though, but it fitted, so I didn't look any further.

Just make sure you have the mounts :

The only tricky part was to remove the pin "holder" on the right side, it was a pain in the ass!

I put my Puigs on several years ago but couldn't find the left side spring so I used zip ties.  This week I finally found a spring but it was too thick so I ground it.  Today I finally found the OEM spring while searching for something else hahaha

  4. yeah I've read a lot of those threads but I've yet to see anyone say they had issues with the final drive.  Issues beyond noise I mean - bearing failure is the most likely outcome I can imagine but perhaps those bearings are robust enough to deal with the excess tension

  5. Has anyone had final drive issues yet due to the tight chain issue?  The amount of whine associated with a tight chain indicates that it should eventually lead to issues.  The 1st time I adjusted according to the manual I went for a ride and immediately came back and slacked it off but others may have pushed on thinking the manual was correct.

  6. Hey all, I just read this thread and went out to see if my '15 had the old or new cable. It's the old type. Squeezed the clutch to see if I could detect any friction and surprised that I could only get partial movement on the lever! Rode her last night without issue and now it seems the clutch is seized or something!?! Anyone else experience this?
