I use a laptop when I am working on my bike. I use the search function in the PDF and when I get confused, I hit the forum, google some pictures or youtubes to help me out.
 
But I have to admit that nothing really beats paper version in your hands to flip through.

I wonder when the first PDF shows up as torrent file. They usually do if they are officially offered as downloadable file.
