  1. Looks to be much narrower. So the upper fairing/tank will probably take more damage when you fall, when the handlebars move to full lock.
I have the KTM handguards and the benefit of the reduced width when filtering on my urban commute far outweighs the miniscule risk from dropping the bike.
People should have more confidence and worry less. If you worry about dropping the bike then your anxiety will increase the probability of this happening. Of course, makers of crash bobbins, engine guards etc are happy to prey on the worried well.
It was merely an observation that some people might like to know wessie.
  2. I've got a Shark RSi helmet, mainly chose it because it had the best fit (long narrow shape) and has a 4 Star SHARP rating. Installed a pinlock defog screen on it (works perfectly).

    Pros:
    - Excellent top ventilation
    - Good design (in my opinion)
    - Safe according to SHARP rating
    - Reasonably affordable (paid about 380 euros)

    Cons:
    - Heavy (+- 1600 grams)(Although i have a slender build, i dont really mind it unless i ride longer than 4 hours because i dont take enough breaks)
    - Quite pricey additional visors (about 70-80 euros)

  3. Alpinestars S-MX 5. Have had them for over 4 years now. Dont have anything to compare them with, but for me they feel great. Look kinda weathered now, but I've ridden them in all circumstances, which include a storm with the road turning into a river (about 1 1/2 feet deep).

    Pros:
    - Light
    - great shifting feel
    - plenty ventilation
    - disposable toe sliders

    Cons:
    - Water protection (I dont care yet lol)
