  1. While this isn't specifically something I did to my FJ it is about my FJ. The vinyl cutter I bought has been fun, including making this for the rear window of my car.
And on a side note I crossed 10k miles since April, when I got my FJ.
Have a weird vibration that I believe has gotten worse so I will try to get to a dealer and ride another to see if I find the same vibration or not. And my cam chain has gotten a little obnoxious too at times so I will talk to them about that as well.
    Have a good weekend all!

  2. I used Rotella for break in and now I'm using Amsoil and NAPA Gold filter.
On a side note this thing definitely enjoyed having its oil changed. Made it not even to 6k miles and the shifts were so notchy I couldn't stand it anymore. Changed the oil and she went back to being buttery smooth.

Madstad has a 60 day return I believe. Perhaps they will accommodate an exchange. Unless you are outside the return window? The Givi is the barn door. Madstad more the garage door.

Alright. Thanks for the info, I'll have to give that a look. I just received and installed on Monday so I will be within any window for returns. I just won't have the bigger screen for my vacation trip this weekend

  4. I'm 5'9, 31 inch inseam. I bought the madstad 20" figuring it would be just about right, sure it looks like a barn door but I knew the extra air behind the screen would help eliminate some of the noise as well.
I was on the edge of getting the 22 as I will only use this shield if I plan to take log trips so the wind doesn't wear me out, and it regularly gets to be nearly 90 when I'm headed home from work.

While it is certainly much quieter the air rattles my helmet and head, the only way I can get away from this is if I duck my head a few inches. I will continue playing with the angle and height to see if I can get away without adding anything extra on. Devising some sort of laminar lip may be needed but for my trip this weekend it will have to do and will still be much more comfortable than stock.

If anyone has a 22" madstad and wants to trade/try a 20" let me know and I'm sure we can work something out. I'm located in southern Indiana
  5. That Looks pretty good!

Only I would do it in a shiny green myself :)

Thanks, it really didn't take me long to figure how to make 1/4 inch strips. The harder part was trying to get the rest of the decals right. Would probably be easier to peel the original decals off and then scan and import that way. Or buy new ones and scan, could be a viable option if enough people would want exact replacements in different color combinations
To me it can only be green if it's a Kawasaki. And this definitely isn't a Kawasaki  :P

@clint I'll take some when I get home from work tonight...too much rain to ride this morning  :(
  6. I bought a vinyl cutter last week so I could make some custom decals and they wouldn't cost a fortune. My progress so far, still yet to do the fj and stripe at the front and the wheels of course!! The bags will also get some sort of treatment when the mounts come in.

Also added a Shad Sh29 top case.

I'm thinking the Yamaha on the sides might have to be reflective blue as well so that it flows.

Also if anyone wants something send me a pm and I'll see what I can do. I'll be trying to make shapes from pictures tonight so I'm sure I'll find the limitations of the software pretty quick
  7. While I didn't put most of these things on today...I figured I'd add the pictures of what I've done so far:

T-Rex sliders, axle and frame, and engine protectors

How do you like the Trex sliders? What do you have on the engine lowers?
I like them. Hopefully I never have to depend on them, not that I don't trust them.
The engine protectors are part of the whole kit from Trex. It's the same kit for the FZ just with the different logo.

T-Rex sliders, axle and frame, and engine protectors

Blue eBay adjustable levers, of course by the time i got them i was used to the stock clutch lever but they still add some color

RAM ball mount for my GPS of course

eBay radiator guard was put on today

And the list of things left to do is long and never ending

  9. I have a bell revolver evo pinstripe, matched my ninja 500 pretty well. It is definitely noisier than the gloss black scorpion exo 1100 I have, also the vents on the exo can be finicky to keep open. But I needed one that was Snell rated for a college competition and it was cheap.

For the exo I bought a tinted green/gold reflective visor, mainly because it matched my school colors. And it looks pretty damn cool, but they do scratch easily.

I've though about the transition visor but having the flip down visor in the bell I haven't been able to justify it
