  1. Got these from ebay for less than $10.00 US. Double sided taped to my hand guards and I spliced them to a plug from another set of lights I used on another bike to plug into the auxiliary power plug. They are fairly bright. I also added reflective Red rim tape and a Blaster X taillight and a little red on the tank. I also added a reflective Yellow pinstripe on the trunk. I left it sitting out in 100 degree F heat for a couple of hours and the Yellow pinstripe wilted. You can't tell in the picture but it curled up and I will have to remove it now. It sounded like a good idea at the time.

  2.  I just traded in my Red 2015 FJ09 for a slightly used 2020 Tracer GT 900 (611 miles). So far I'm very pleased, it seems everything is a little bit better. I know some people still don't like the suspension but it's defiantly a smoother ride then on my 2015. The cruise control is wonderful to have. After a half hour ride with the cruise and maybe a different bend on the bars I felt great. On my old bike my right hand would go numb.  I think the new windscreen is better then the old one some, I'm sure there is a aftermarket that's better but I'm satisfied after 5 years with the stock old one. The engine seems smoother even though I had a flash on the old one. The only thing I don't like better with the new bikes motor is the engine braking. It must have been turned off on the old one with the flash. The quick shifter took some getting used to. I finally figured out it's smoother from 2nd up and have been using it accordingly. So far the only frustrations I've had was when I was trying to reset the trip meters. The previous owner lost the manual in the 6 months he owned it. I downloaded the manual from Yamaha's website and all is well. Also the stock side panniers are smaller then I'm used to, I had some Shad's that were bigger on my old bike, but I didn't have a top case so it evens out. So far I'm a happy man. I only wish I didn't have to work so I could go riding more. Oh yeah one last thing. The previous owner left the warning sticker on the tank. It took the better part of an hour to get the glue off after removing it. It might have been made worse by the flat Black paint that I'm not to crazy about. But I looks fine now.

  3. Mine lasted 1 1/2 years, I keep it on a battery tender the last 6 months. One day I went out to ride and the light had turned red on the tender, tried to charge it no luck so I jumped it and took a brisk 50 mile ride, shut it off and tried to start it....nothing. Replaced and new battery has been on tender from day one.
  4. My 2015 FJ09 which is in the service bulletin range has never made any unusual sounds, but after reading this and other threads, I figured I would call my dealer and feel him out. He looked up my vin and said he would order it. He got it in about a week and I went in Saturday morning and in about 20 minutes I was back on the road. I can't tell any difference in the sound, but at least its done.
  5. Installed The LED Knuckle guards and the mirror extenders from Carl's Cycle yesterday evening. Saturday I installed the BlasterX  Custom LED tail light. 2 weeks ago I installed a Ghost Alarm and Red pin striping on my wheels and the week before that I installed Shad side cases. I hope my farkeling is over for a while, except for some reflective tape I have on order that I'm going to put on they back of the Shad cases. I need to quit reading this forum and seeing all the neat stuff you guys come up with.
  6. Well I tried to use the quote function and failed miserably, see previous post. What I was trying to say was Monday I submitted an order for the mirror extenders direct from Koubalink directly and I've heard nothing from them. I e-mailed them yesterday morning and haven't had a response to that either. It seems like everybody has had quick service in this thread. I might have to order them from the other place and pay shipping.
  7. I've finally had an opportunity to ride my bike, and the Kouba mirror extenders are my favorite mod thus far. The mirrors actually work, without requiring me to fold my arms in like a freezing anorectic bird. And, if you aren't intimately familiar with the FJ-09, you would never notice that there are mirror extenders installed. They match very well, same circumference, etc etc. The Kouba extenders are well worth the cost for USA consumers. (shipping)
There is no shipping cost if these are purchased directly from the manufacturers site.
They were very easy to work with and very responsive to emails etc...

Highly recommend going to them vs the distributor i saw charging ridiculous shipping charges.
