  1. SOLD!

    Hi all,

Up for sale is my 2015 Yamaha FJ-09 with 18,700 miles. The bike slightly modded with Ohlins front and rear suspension, ASV shorty levers and renthal grips. Other than those items, the bike is stock. Pirelli Angel GT 2 tires were installed 400 miles ago, so they have PLENTY of life. All maintenance have been done by me including valve clearance. They were all in spec so I did not adjust them.

The bike rides and handles really well, Yamaha nailed it with this sport touring bike. I used it mainly for commuting to work and has never let me down

I'm looking to get another sport bike so this one has to go. There are a few small flaws. First is a scratch on the tank due to another bike falling onto it in my garage. Second is the gear indicator doesn't show all the gears but I have the part to fix it and will have it fixed prior to sale. Last is tags are due in January but I will also take care of that prior to sale.

Asking price is $6,000 with spare parts such as windscreen, skid plate, fog lights and other items. Located in Temecula but can show it in Escondido. Please PM me for more pictures.

  2. Hi all, currently looking for a near perfect red fuel tank for my '15 FJ-09.

I was moving bikes around and the FJ-09 tipped over and took some damages to the left side of the tank and tank cover.

My OCD is telling me to replace the tank ASAP but a brand new tank is $700....

Hoping to test my luck with this forum.

Yes, perhaps Sept 3/4/5. Labor Day weekend. Happy bday to the lady.

    Sounds good to me!

She's turning 32, he request is to sleep in tomorrow morning. Go eat brunch, go on a quick ride on the bike, play top golf and spend all day Saturday/Sunday in PB and downtown.

  4. The bike I bought was flashed and I only ride in standard, but it's super choppy.

I ask because the Tracer 900 GT that I inquired about just dropped another $1k in price, maybe more if it doesn't gain any more traction. Private seller must live in no man country and not getting any interest.

Starting to consider the idea of selling the FJ-09 to get the Tracer 900 GT.

I ordered from FC-Moto, even including shipping from Europe it was cheaper than anywhere else including direct from Shad themselves. I paid $350 shipped for a 3P mounting system and a pair of the SH23 top open cases. The only downside was the slightly longer shipping time.

Thanks for the heads up, they are much cheaper! I wonder if we will have to pay tax/duties on that.

    Oh I miss San Diego!

I started the morning off in Temecula, riding down to Fallbrook/Escondido area off the 15 freeway. We road through Lilac Road to Pala Casino, arriving at Palomar. Rode up the back to Palomar Mountain, down the front. Back to Escondido for a fuel up, then back home to Temecula.

We joke around how sad it is here in California, but we're very fortunate to live here. The fact that we can go from the desert in Ocotillo Wells to the beach in Pacific Beach within 3 hours is amazing.

  7. Well, the West Coast meet I brought up initially would be something yearly. From all the forums I have been on (600rr.net, TacomaWorld.com, FordRaptorForum.com, bimmerpost.com), there's usually a yearly meet. Whether it's close or not, it would be a great way to for some of us to get out and stretch our legs on longer rides and meet forum members that live in the region.

As for weekly meets, we have a San Diego thread that would work for us down here in Southern California.

There was something in Oregon, last ride of the year or some such. West coast, but far from San Diego!

I could be game. Certainly still planning to reach out when my weekends clear. Maybe next weekend we can meet at Josie's Hideaway.

I should get my bike in the next couple of days so I will be ready for some rides. I'm down for local rides and then doing an overnight trip. I've always wanted to do the Monterrey loop but I need to get some endurance as my butt is not meant/ready for longs days in the saddle.

Sounds good to me! I did a 120 mile ride from Temecula to Escondido, through Lilac Rad to Pala, up to Palomar, back down to Escondido and then home to Temecula. Still need to adjust suspension and find the right tire pressure.

I'm with you James, I need a few more rides before I commit to anything over 200 miles. I found this seat online but I hear mix reviews with Corbin: https://inlandempire.craigslist.org/mpo/d/upland-yamaha-fj09-tracer-corbin-seat/7500759553.html

  9. Hi group, was wondering if there was/is a Western region meetup or thing as such?

Not exactly sure what the details would be. But I am interested to see if anyone wants a reason to get out the house for a weekend trip with/without the significant other.

I have attended a few of these types of meet ups (Ducati and Honda forums) and always had a great time meeting forum members in person. However, the meets I attended were always local, never had to travel more than an hour or so.

If anyone is interested, please feel free to reply!
