  1. So I added the Puig clip on visor (medium - 250mm wide) to my Parabellum Flyscreen and it is a HUGE improvement. Haven't fine tuned it yet, but I am very happy with the airflow now. Roar and windblast are gone, but I still get air to my deltoids - where my jacket vents are. Will wash the bike this weekend and get a picture up.

    Cheers

  2. The only thing is I wish it was a quick release screen to make switching easier. As it is, I have to remove the screen, remove the mount, reattach the plastic stock mount, then attach whatever other screen to the stock mounting points. Not the end of the world, but it means I won't be switching back and forth except between seasons.
Sounds about the amount of time it takes to enjoy a good beer - so the change is quality time in the man cave. ;>) Cheers

  3. I called the US Puig office this Monday and was told the screen was not being imported into the US yet. Also called Tucker Rockie and Western Power sports and neither had heard of it. If any US members got it, I would love to know from where.
The wind chart does make it look like a great screen.

  4. So I finally finished my luggage racks, got the phone mount on, dialed in the touring screen and am now ready to go. Just got to wait for my vacation to come.
Sorry for the poor photo quality - dropped the camera while backpacking 2 weeks ago and it just isn't focusing perfectly.

Luggage on - Nelson-Rigg CL-855's were bigger than I expected, but will work great for fall trips: http://s296.photobucket.com/user/daleh627/media/Saddlebags%20amp%20Tailpack_zps7syxma06.jpg.html?sort=3&o=3

  5. Gth742g - try playing around with the angle of the screen. I angled both of mine back and it was a vast improvement. Perhaps due to your height you should angle it out.
Good luck. After some fiddling I have become very happy with both of my Parabellum screens.

My touring screen is the 24 inch one and after angling it back my eyes are 7 inch above the top of the screen.  I get a very gentle breeze touching the visor, no buffeting and absolutely no roar like with the stock screen.  Will keep the fly screen on for the rest of summer.
  6. how is the wind noise with the flyscreen? its to hot here in fl for a touring screen in the summer to.
It is good, meaning not too much.  Not as quiet as the double bubble on my Daytona, but much, much better than the stock one.  No wind roar at all.  In the low position the wind blast hits me just above the bottom of the visor.  In the high position about eye level.  (5' 8" 29 inseam)I am going to run some tests  to see if the same shape but a few inches taller, would send the blast over my head, but allow air to the jacket. Cheers

  7. I just got my two Parabellum screens today and gave each a quick test on the highway. The flyscreen is great, but also much more like what I am used to. The touring screen was "wind roar" free, but I had some buffeting noise around the top of my helmet. I say buffeting noise, because my head was NOT being buffeted around. The fact that my torso had no wind on it at all was kind of trippy and awful since it was 91F here when I went out. Have never had a screen like this and not sure what to make of it. Do I save it for winter?
Here in northern California I need my jackets vents working 6-7 months out of the year.

Both screens are well made, the material is flawless and the mounting hardware is easy to use.

  8. I just got my Penske shock today, so I installed it tonight. Will test it asap. Not thrilled with where I had to mount the reservoir, but it will do for now. It doesn't intrude into the wheel well anymore than the passenger footpeg bracket did and has the same clearance to the swingarm, so it should be good for awhile.

Tested - shock is awesome and reservoir mounting locations works perfectly. Nothing touches.

  9. So I am playing around with screen angle and height with limited success.Angling it back has seemed to help more than lowering it, but will try some more this coming weekend.I added two 1/2 inch spacers to the bottom two holes of the plastic sub frame and then 3/8 inch spacers to the lower holes between the screen and the plastic sub frame.Gentle buffeting around the shoulders and reduced (but not gone) wind roar.Next I drill holes in the screen to lower it another two inches.  Did not seem to change anything.

I think a very bowed front is going to be required.  Not sure a flat screen will work.
  10. Have 280 miles of twisty road riding in and the brakes are bed in. Plenty of power, but not easy to modulate. I think I have grown so used to a radial master cylinder that I will take some time to get used to this one. Just like it took awhile to get used to the Daytona's radial master cylinder. Too bad I am such a slow learner. ;>)

Absolutely love the motor! I'd forgotten how easy passing becomes with all that midrange grunt.

I will be replacing the suspension. The roads here are too crappy for what it comes with. on smooth roads it is fine, we just don't have enough of those here.

    Cheers
  11. Having just got the bike today, all I have done is ride it (Way Fun!),  remove the lame gas tank warning sticker, remove the passenger pegs (wow, those babies are light!)
and try to angle the windscreen back a little (put a few washers behind the screen at the lower mounting holes). I noticed while riding that if I stood just 2, maybe 3 inches up on the footpegs, the roar was gone. So will be cutting the screen soon.
