  1. I just snagged a Retro Beauty for my "up north summer job bike" I could have towed up the FJ09 but alas I sold the trailer. I picked up a 2019 Kawasaki Z900RS Cafe. It's a real sweet bike and I can't decide which bike is better. Love them both. Yamaha has much better wind protection but lacks some it factor. The triple cylinder engine is where the should of this   bike lives. The Cafe oozes charm and a blast to ride. So many bikes so little time.

  2. Good luck with the hip replacement. I've had 2 and good as new. Doctors said no more jogging!

My first time with the Neotec 2 I broke my glasses taking it off :(. Good point that it's the sunshade that is doing it. Your correct.

I am totally amazed at how quiet the Neotec 2 is compared to my HJC. It's still expensive at 600 but a worthy splurge.

Have to say the best helmet is the one that fits you best.

  3. Snagged a Neotec 2 on eBay for 350 in bright lime green excursion color. Put up an eBay search for what your looking for. I could not justify the big expense when like someone else said HJC is pretty much as safe. Thought I got a pretty good deal and the lime green and black stands out at least to me.

I found I could put my eyeglasses on with the Neo 2 but I learned the hard way to take them off when removing it. Broke at the hinge.

  4. $20 plus actual shipping. PayPal

    The specs from Revzilla-

    https://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/shogun-pa2-frame-sliders-yamaha-fz-09-fj-09-xsr900?sku_id=1200321

They do make a handy foot rest.

Boxed up ready to ship. Easy to install. Remove bolts and torque the 8mm Allen screws to 33 ft/lbs or 45 n/m

They do protect the tank and plastics from a stationary drop. I laid the bike over on a carpet to test it.

Longer one and longer bolt go on Left side.

  5. A small portable jumper pack like the one from Diehard sold at Advance Auto-doubles as a flashlight and charger for cell phones. Don't scrimp on the First Aid Kit. One with Quick Clot and some pads to stop major bleeding-I have EMT training  and always carry stuff like that with me. Eye wash like Visine for those pesky bugs that hit your eyes and general dry eye from long rides with the face visor up. Long forceps seem to always be handy working on a bike when you drop stuff in the internals, plus a extentable magnetic pick up tool. Best tool is the American Motorcyclist Association card with auto renewal that provides (free with auto renewal membership) towing for when the side wall hits a piece of metal leaving you stranded outside Beaumont TX on a road with no shoulders......

  6. I got this from someone on Facebook who had it on his 2015 FJ09. It did fit in place of the pathetic stock windscreen but I could not use the stock handguards that for some stupid reason I really like as it gives the bike some character and actually blocks a lot of wind. I was going to keep it and go to bark busters.

Meanwhile my wife went ahead and called Revzilla and she surprised me with the right one for the FJ with the handguards. Great having a rider for a wife! (she rides a Vulcan 650S)

I don't see any scratches of marks on it. Appears new. I'll include some M5 screws from the stock windscreen.

Boxed up ready to ship-I will take it back if your not thrilled with it.

I've been a big fan of Madstad screens until I tried the Puig touring.

Asking $75 including shipping paid via regular PayPal.

  7. I'm now working on buying a rear shock from a bike that has a remote preload knob. I see them on eBay for 60 bucks and right now trying to do research to see if it will fit in same spot as the FJ-09 space. It's just a royal pain to have to adjust the rear for 2 up with a heavy load to all bags and box off for the sport bike that lurks under the skin of the FJ.

  8. I considered another Scotoiler for my FJ09 but learned about DuPont Chain Saver Wax Based Lubricant and found that so easy and quick I did not install the oiler

I can clean AND lube in under 2 minutes but do have a 18x6 piece of dirty cardboard to deal with that drips off the chain I clean every 300 or so miles. Does not fling nor attract dirt, repels water. Love it.

not trying to start a chain lube war just my experience

    YMMV
