  1. So I have the full akrapovic exhaust and I have the sprint p08 air filter but I can't install the air filter till I get a power commander. But they don't make one for our bike for some reason. Can I have the ecu tuned to work with the air filter and exhaust without a power commander? If so, any suggestions on the best person to go to? I'm in Utah but I'm sure I may have to ship my ecu like I did for my yamaha bolt to Ivan in new York.

  2. Hey so I’ve heard about the angle leaning people forward too much with the stock seat. But I didn’t have that issue at all. I have the Corbin driver and passenger seat and now I have it. After I’ve been riding for maybe 15 minutes or so I can feel it angling me too far forward. Has anyone else had this issue with the Corbin seat? Is there an easy fix for this? I’m on the new 2022(in 2023) tracer 9gt

    Thank you!

  3. Hey I’m trying to find a small tank bag that attaches to the ring around the fuel tank and doesn’t stick up to much to block my phone on a quadlock mount and the dash. And at least water resistant. I’m having trouble with this, any advice would be appreciated.

My pyramid rear hugger extension also helps keep things clean particularly muck from getting thrown at the shock

There are some gaps in the o e m rear hugger that need to be filled with foam or caulk that Otherwise allow muck to pass thru them and get on the shock

Thanks for that. Because you have to fill in gaps I ordered a different one for the rear. I’ll order the pyramid one for the front fender though.

Its a 3D printed part off eBay and has held up very well. Seems someone copied the part and you can probably find it at other sources although I would go with the this one. Many YouTube reviews on it including how I found this...

He's using the older mount in that video. The ebay seller has the newer revision which is what I'm using for my Garmin Zumo XT.

Ok cool. I want a Garmin but it’s hard to justify spending the money on it when I have my phone and a quadlock with the wireless charger.

Yea Denali is great but kind of pricey. I have 'em on my C14 but figured with the T9GT wanted to try something new so I went with Diode Dynamics SSC1 light pods mounted on my engine/crash bars. Excellent road visibility both at night and in fog. You can see 'em mounted here...

Nice. I have the same color option for my bike. I think it’s the best. Yea I’ll have to get them. I just already spent a lot. I have the acrapovic exhaust coming, Corbin seat, 50l givi top box setup, fender eliminator, rear fender hugger, and radiator guard. And that’s just for right away as soon as I bought the bike haha. I need to wait a bit before spending more. I don’t wanna piss my wife off lol

As someone who experienced a rock on the radiator on a different bike (C14), I wanted to be sure I didn't experience that again on my T9GT so I installed a radiator guard (Evotech) in addition to a front fender extender (Pyramid). It's peace of mind if a rock or something ever kicks up in that area.  I think those 2 items are all you need.

I was just on a day trip around Mt Rainier a few weeks ago and didn't realize one of the roads is gravel and glad I was only going <20mph, but thankful I had the radiator guard + front fender installed. After navigating that road for a few miles, I pulled over and checked everything and didn't see rocks or damage so the protection passed with flying colors!

How did you get a gps mounted right there above the dashes?

As mentioned earlier, auxiliary lights. I recommend Denali products - good value and excellent quality and performance. I have them on both my bikes and they make a huge difference.

Nice. I was hoping for a cheaper option haha. I guess there isn’t one.

The Tracer 9 GT has LED headlights, mine work great. You might first check that they are adjusted properly. No bulb to change. Other option as stated above is auxiliary lights, many choices available.  I'm getting auxiliary lights, not for more brightness, but to make the bike more visible to other drivers. The single low beam light is bright, but is pretty small from front end view.

Hmm ok I’ll ask the dealer to check them. It was so hard riding at night

  10. I thought the stock headlights would be good but they suck at night. The brights just light up the ground right In front of the bike and to the sides. Which is good but it doesn’t extend out. So it’s only the main headlight that does that and it doesn’t go far enough out and it’s hard to see. Any suggestions without getting a whole new expensive headlight?

That's the sixty four thousand dollar question as to what will fit other than an OEM exhaust system.

I've checked and haven't been able to determine that so it would be trial an error.

The SW moto Tech skid plate is the least Intrusive so to speak and does a good job of protecting the sump. I drilled a hole in mine underneath the drain plug because I have a 15 where it's at the back of the sump Pan so I can change the oil without having to pull the skid plate.

A low profile drain plug is also recommended for those with the bolt at the bottom of the pan.

The plate also protects the headers and minimizes road grime on the engine. It's amazing how mucky the front of the skid plate gets.

Hmm. Ok. So I’ll for sure get a mudguard for the front fender

Another vote for a rad guard!

And yes, the oil pans on these bikes are, anecdotally, rather fragile.  There's a post or two (at least one resulting in multi-day repairs on the road) of a stray rock hitting just right and cracking the pan (it seems that searching the site isn't working ATM or I'd post some links).  I've also heard of at least one incident where someone with a loaded bike (pillion & gear) bottoming out on a speed bump and cracking the pan.

It's a bit better with the newer bikes because the drain plug is located up and out of the way.  On the first-gen bikes the plug was the lowest point on the bike.

Ok that sucks. At least I have a new one. Do you know what skid plate will work with the full akrapovic exhaust?

I have never used a front fender extender but have used a radiator guard on every bike I have owned.  I can handle a little bit of water splash but a punctured radiator will ruin your day.

    Yea I thought so

Pyramid rear hugger extension, FendaExtenda front, SW-Mototech skid plate and Evotech rad guard; KTM Explorer hand guards

Do we need a skid plate when this bike isn’t for going off-road? I also have the full akrapovic exhaust coming. Not sure if one will fit with that. I’ll look at those products you recommended. Thank you!

Congrats on the new bike! I'm in Midvale. Utah has horrible drivers, but some of the best roads in the US are within a pretty short distance. Some of the best roads are still closed from the crazy winter (SR 150 Mirror Lake Highway, SR 92 Alpine Loop, and Nebo Loop)

But there are plenty of good roads that are open. Up by you in Ogden, check out Monte Cristo (SR 39), then up to Bear Lake, and back down the canyon to Logan then Brigham City.

Down toward SLC, there is Little Cottonwood Canyon, which is a shorter canyon; Big Cottonwood, which is a little longer, and connects to Guardsman Pass into Park City or Midway. From Midway, you can head over to Cascade Springs rd, which connects to Alpine Loop (when the loop is open).

East Canyon from Ogden, head East on 84, then take the exit at Morgan for SR 65. Then SR 66 at the reservoir. That road will put you just east of Salt Lake on I-80.

And so many more roads around too!

Awesome. Thank you. I’m going to save this info. Tons of rides!

Congrats on the new bike!  I've never been to Salt Lake City (except the airport) or Ogden.  I have been to Moab, Vernal and Flaming George.  LOL first time I went by Flaming George it was on the west side and was a cold rain!  I was wet and very cold but still a beautiful area.  Went to back to Vernal a couple of years ago and went north on the other side of Flaming George.  Out of Vernal is a place called Jones Hole - roads are not that good with lots of tar snakes so speed is about the speed limit.  Joes Hole is a cool place with a hatchery and a short hike to the Green River.  Saw a bighorn sheep on the trail - like 6 feet away!  Close enough to be a bit scary as they are not as big as Elk but big enough with a massive head and horns.  Of course of carefully slowly eased my camera up and got pics.  I get to Vernal via Cheyanne WY then thru the Snowy Mountain Range to Encampment then south thru Battle Pass to Craig CO before west to Vernal.  Some good mountain roads on that route.

Too bad on the top box.  I have the small Yamaha one and really like it.  Nice thing about Yamaha is can key the same as the ignition key.  I'm going to be selling my top case, left overs from re-keying set and the rack (for 2020 Tracer GT).  Also have a virtually new SW Motech tank bag will be selling also.  Selling bike and going to more wheels but haven't gotten around to taking pics and making a proper listing.

EDIT:  Reason for selling has nothing to do with the bike but rather health and age and wife are pointing me to going to a car.

Hey that sounds like a very nice ride!
Too bad you’re moving away from motorcycles. My mom is 73 and rides a Honda ruckus haha.
I may be interested in the tank bag. Can you send me pics and info on it in a private message?
