  1. I am ready to buy a new exhaust for my 2020 Tracer. I like the look of the Stainless and Titanium full system from Akrapovic. Seems most vendors list the Stainless, Carbon fiber and Titanium system for my model. I'll picture both below.

Figured it would be better to ask my question in this thread as it's related. Will the SS & Ti system fit my 2020? I've asked two vendors and have not got an answer yet. Thanks.

    I want this one.

    Not this one.

Today I added my newly modified Russell. They lowered it some for me. No pics of that though. I forgot.

I also finished up adding a Whelen Micron third brake. Stainless plate sandwiched between the tag and the tag bracket. I angled it down a bit to tame the brightness some. I really love these Whelens. Added a silicone tag frame as well. Two reflective tag bolts broke on me when taking them off. So I need to wait for more to show up.

Do not copy this design if you have a tail tidy. I went for my first real ride after installing. it did not end up surviving. I think the tire came up and hit it, folding the mount completely backwards. Whelen still works but is all busted up. I'll have to rethink the mount and buy a new light. Maybe something on the side of the tag? Symmetry would be off and bug me terribly tho.

Everything else worked well. My trip didn't go quite like planned. What happened though was pretty dang fun. So glad I found and added the heated jacket plug at the last minute.

Consider using Coaxial plugs like used for heated gear. Coaxial transfers power more efficiently,  is easier to use and only requires a smaller round hole. Now I have SAE to but actually made and you can buy SAE to Coaxial cables, and extensions.

You could also run a high output dual USB A power jack from inside the top box ur with Coaxial lead to the 12v to 5v converter unit.

    Lots of options

I have a coaxial cord to power my jacket liner. SAE only goes to the trunk. Which was powered this morning. I now have the ability to charge phones and headsets in my GIVI Dolomite box. The box has a 3.1 amp dual USB to SAE I got from Amazon. Same thing I've had on my previous bike for years.

Oh, when the tires were put on so were new Aluminum 90° valve stems. Much easier to add air now. The front was particularly difficult before.

I had a PM about this. I did not wire in the Clearwater's high beam trigger. Only the horn trigger. I do not know how to get that working with the bike's neg high beam signal. Yet.

  4. Bike is back together. I finished up the wiring for the Clearwaters, added the PC8, rerouted the power for the Garmin, added in the heated jacket liner plug, added an SAE power plug that will power the top box and double as the Battery Tender plug. I also installed new Metzlers. Could not be bother to dig my tire changer out so I paid to have them mounted. First time I've not mounted my own tires in 12 years. I wasn't sure my homemade tire changer would hold them.

I still have to clean the bike up well and lube the chain. I need to also drill a large hole in the top box to install an SAE pass through. I plan to charge phones and whatnot in it. That will be tomorrow.

This has been quite the mad dash to get all this done. I leave on a trip next Wednesday. I should have some pics soon.

What lights did you get?  I'm definitely planning on some driving lights up front to improve my visibility.  Don't ride much at night but not a fan of the little headlights.  Denali and Clearwater are great but very $$$... any other suggestions?  Thanks!

I have a set of Clearwater Kristas and Darlas. Left over from my leftover bike.

All the wiring is done for the lights. Bodywork back on. I took the tank off to run wires. First time. Went well. All I need to do now is install the Eastern Beaver PC-8, heated jacket liner pug, battery tender plug, cut a hole in the top box, wire the top box, and change the tires. All before Wed next week. No big deal. Should be fine.

Today I installed my new Madstad 24" windshield, will have to try some different position settings to see what works best. Looking forward to it after all the good feedback I've heard on that product.  I did not install the 2 side winglets, figured I try it without first and see if they are needed.  Just curious, for other Madstad users, have you found the winglets useful?

Also swapped out the cigarette lighter style auxiliary DC jack for a Yamaha part that provides 2 USB jacks instead. Very nice unit, but very fiddly to get the wiring taken care of since there is so little room to work there, but it all worked out in the end. Also installed an extra set of wires from the aux connection to run a small DVM that I'll be sticking below the dash, just to monitor battery voltage.  I'm surprised he T9 does not include that on the display.

    The personalization process continues! 🙂

I have never rode without the side deflectors so I can't comment if they help or not. I do think that having them on helps, but that could just be wishful thinking. They help out a ton with looks though. I think it really makes the front look better. Less of a "Lemon on top of a watermelon" look.

I have the lights mounted to the bike. No wiring yet. I have the front bodywork and tank off to start the wiring process. I ordered a switch for the handlebars. Will start the fuse block wiring soon.

If you are looking for a switched power source, the bike comes with 3 or 4 spare aux. leads behind the gauges/dash.  They are a key-on 12v power source, I have my GPS, daytime running lights and LED voltmeter wired into mine.

I'm not looking for a switched power source. I am adding an Easter Beaver PC8 to draw power from. I would need a positive trigger for the high beams. So that the Clearwater lights go full power when the high beams are on. I'm looking into this now. I'm aware of the bike calling for high beams by sending a negative signal to the ECU. I just don't know how to overcome it safely. Yet.

I don't want to derail this thread too much, I'll start my own thread when I'm ready. Thanks.

  8. Today I installed the R&G Tank pads/grips. The tank section fit well. The "frame" section was just ok tho. I don't understand why the grip pads are so far forward on the tank n "frame". Perhaps the previous model is way different. I can't use the front half of the pads, as I can't sit that far forward. Or even have my knees that high on the tank.

I also started putting the inverted fork brackets on for the Clearwater Darla fork lights. Ran outta time.

  9. Sorry about your lights. I can't help with that. I do thank you for posting tho. It came in the perfect time to help save mine. I'm just starting to add some lights to mine and would have probably broke the ECU or the headlights. It has given me something to research.

Good luck on finding a solution.

  10. Today I installed a GIVI fog light bracket. I plan to mount Clearwater Glendas to it. Darlas on the forks. I have them left over from my previous bike.

I also got in today the proper brackets to mount the lights from Clearwater. Hopefully I'll have the lights on soon.

I also, also got in R&G tank grip pads. They are for the previous years Tracer but I hope it fits my 2020.

Is there much difference between this seat compared to the stock seat? I'm 6' , 220 lbs Cost of your seat?

    Price is $200 shipped.

I found the comfort seat made my comfortable ride time increase from 45 minutes to about 3 hours. It made a big difference. I'm 5'11" and roughly 230 pounds. The raised sections have a different kinda foam than the rest I think.

  13. Welcome. Hope you find yourself a bike. As always, tailoring the suspension to your weight and riding style helps. I came from a well set-up ST1100 and don't regret it. I do miss the old bike, probably would buy another if I found the right one, but I'm rambling on. You've come to the wrong place to be talked out of buying a Tracer.

You don't say which model you rode or what the issue with the suspension was.

I have a 2020. If I dint find such a great bike at a great price I would have went after the current Tracer.

  14. If you're asking where to mount the remote reservoir for the rear shock, you should just mount it back where the stock res is. You'll have to improvise. The PO of my bike found a piece of rubber and hose clamped it in place.

Google "remote reservoir mount" and several options will come up.
