    Where pray tell?

I've been wanting a Bonneville T120 for a while so I went to MotoEuropa in St. Louis to check out this red one and bought it. They are prepping it, so I will take her home tomorrow.

I just want something to "cruise" that won't compete for my attention when I want to fly on my Tracer.

They also have a V4 Ducati Panigale but a little out of my budget...

I have the room in the garage , why not fill the space?

Oh the Museum is next door and is amazing!

  2. I have a BIG Head and my perfect helmet is Shoei RF1200 Large. No other helmet fits my Dome like that!

However I was interested in a Modular as my main Lid due to the warm weather and stopping for some hydration without having to go through the routine of removing full face helmet.  Neotec was top on my list after reading this thread and many youtube videos. Went to CycleGear to try on and fit is very different than RF1200, also has the dreaded RACHET. 30+ years of riding and no complaints with D rings on the chinstrap, Rachet's choke me out so this helmet is a No Go.

So I ordered an HJC i91 modular from Revzilla. That's the one for me! The sizing is weird compared to the other manufacturers, but the XL is better. I also wear a Balaclava under the helmet to keep my long hair out of the way. It is Quiet for a modular and has a place for Sena Integrated Bluetooth and feels more premium than the Shoei Neotec.

Just my 2 cents. Sorry got too wordy, but advise to check out the HJC i91

Now my neck needs to get used to the lack of balance on a modular. The chinbar and mechanism needs to be strong so its heavier in the front. Puts some extra strain on your neck.

For future reference, and I’m not sure this is still the case, but the Yamaha boxes are actually made by Shad. They’re just re-badged as Yamaha. And pricing is usually the same with no uplift applied by Yamaha.  So,  if there’s a shortage of Yamaha boxes in the US, you can be sure the Shad will fit.

I have the Shad 39L and it does not fit the Yamaha Rack pictured at the top of this post.

About 2h at a leisurely pace (not spare part left), and another hour for the re-key. Instructions are crap and some of the panel removals aren't intuitive. Silver body pieces slide forward when removed - not simple clip-ons. Paneer hanger bolts were a b*tch and had to be aligned properly when re-installed - I used a #5 allen key to keep it in place.

  5. Update:

I really liked the look and build quality of the Yamaha Top Case Rack even though it appears to be a PITA to install.

I got a deal on a SHAD 39 case so I was on way to DIY'ing the SHAD plastic universal mount on the Yamaha rack. I would check ebay one last time for any Yamaha 39L top case in the USA, and I found one, new...pulled the trigger.. 🤞

Let's hope this one arrives so I can have the setup I intended for a secure Top Case.

I placed an order for 39L from Cyclepartsnation and they charged my card. Let's see how this goes 🤔

UPDATE from the order I placed on the 10th.

No communication from Cyclepartsnation since they charged my card $260. I reached out to them only to be told the case has been discontinued and I would be refunded the money.

Not a Big Fan of CyclePartsNation and how they do business 😠

No way, have a perfectly good old car to get salt on. :) I will get out hopefully a bit on Sunday, raining today and will help clean off all the muck a bit.

I recently moved from SF Bay Area (where I could ride year round) to here in MO to help my sister with aging parents. I noticed the white powder on the freeway, but the backroads were better.

I'm going to get a can of something to protect my new bike from corrosion (and keep it clean).

    cheers,

    Jen

Looking great on the new GT+.

So am i reading this correctly, the new GT+ includes Michelin Road 6s and not the Bridgestone T32s? That's great - I didn't see any tire specs but I'm for these and I went to the 6s after 8K on my '22 T9GT.

No  the GT+ still comes with the Bridgestones. I just changed to the Road 6's for my own preference.

What's your first impressions of the Michelin Road 6's?

Let me get another 100 miles on em....just worn off the shiny stuff..😉

  9. Put my first 600 miles on my GT+ and had to chime in on the stock Bridgestones. Not a Big Fan of em.

Not confidence inspiring when going into a long sweeper. Bike tends to want to fall into lean quickly and then you must correct to avoid crossing the double yellow. I'm used to Michelin or Pirelli and think I will change out tires when I get $$$ again.

In the meantime I dropped the pressure in the front 3lbs and its much more of joy to take on the twisties.

    cheers,

    Jen

I just had an order for a 50L top case refunded by Yamaha Sports Plaza because - although the site said they had them in stock - no stock.  :(  So, you may want to check with them first before ordering.

Cycle Parts Nation, Yamaha Sports Plaza, and Babbit's Online all seem to have the same menu system and available stock - they must share stock or otherwise be affiliated with each other.

I placed an order for 39L from Cyclepartsnation and they charged my card. Let's see how this goes 🤔
