I put the low profile plug in yesterday. Now I need to get a grinder to take care of that ridiculous fin. I dont wanna take out 700 bolts!

2. It scares me how clean your work space is. I would be unable to work when not surrounded by tools, parts, sports equipment I'll never use and old oil in gallon jugs.

I had to go look
It's just the one under the clamp ring. I had to fiddle with it a bit to get the end away from the plastic shroud so it doesn't scratch it to bad.

Its been rock solid for me for a few hundred miles. As my world is a sheet of ice right now it will be a bit before I get back on the horse, but it works and I expect I will leave it that way. I'm running out of farkling money for a while so this seems to be the least of my concerns.
And thats just the best spot for the pigtail

you probably mean how I mounted mine. If it bugs you send the unit back for a longer hose. Or just buy the hose and when the shock gets rebuilt add it on. My shock had been purchased for an FZ 09 and thats why it had the short hose.

i bet its a mixed bag which gets which. They are probably using up the old ones and phasing in the new. So.... 50/50 chance!

looks like a nothing of a bump! Please keep us updated if Yamaha will cover the damage as a warranty issue. I saw they redesigned the oil pan on the 2017. This seems like recall material to me....

no problem, you used html addresses and presented them as urls. Use "Insert Image" button. Seven form the end and looks like an picture. This will embed it with the image uncoding that the forum understands. Usually your host, like Imgur, will create a BB/Forum ready link which will be the url encased in forum image code.
Clear as mud?

You know you can mount an accessory outlet oin the right hand side just like they have on on the left? Its easy to pop out and I used one that looks much like yours. Wired to the accessory power under the screen.
Some of the things done last couple days. Driving lights, voltmeter, accessory outlet (wired hot to battery), extender.

very comfortable, good for dual-sport but not rock hopping as they are lighter on armor than some true off-road boots. Great water resistance, work well on a street bike but not as great as a pair of A*'s:

A little awkward on the external mount but it works:
seemed stable and accessible if not as neatly mounted as the traxxion version.

after studying the innards out of ULEWZ write-up one thing I would add to hopefully save the next guy a few minutes. I like things spelled out like a childrens book
I zoomed in on his tools for removing the lower shock bolt, I found a decent tool for the front axle and a set of tools for the other half of this job; the forks!
this came about after I went and tried to use regular box wrenches on the shock. Its very tight on the rear of this bike! My V Strom and WR have been spoiling me with easy access to everything
And then I noticed my typo will be forever preserved on the internet.

thanks ULEWZ. Im in contact with the shocks original provider and discussing springs and options. When I saw the original owner I knew my somewhat, errrr, heftier nature would probably need more.
