  1. I have the Akropovic titanium racing exhaust and was a little underwhelmed by the volume and sound of it. On the first start up I was expecting it to be a louder and angrier sounding, but it's not quite what I was hoping for. If I remove the baffle, would that have any negative effects on the performance or bike itself? I got my ECU flashed by 2WDW for that exhaust, but I assume the map they used was for the baffle in. Who has experience with this and what was the outcome? I assume the carbon and titanium systems are very different in terms of volume and tone so specifically looking for people who have the titanium system. A lot of people claim it's too loud with it out, is there any way to find a nice middle ground?

  3. It's not the flanges I'm worried about, it's the studs coming out of the engine that are bent outward. I'm worried it could have caused a crack in the engine case or some other damage that can get worse over time. Either way, it's going to bug me
  4. Last night I was installing my new Akropovic exhaust and accidentally over-tightened the 6 bolts that hold the headers in place. I was using a torque wrench, but for some reason it wasn't clicking under the correct pressure (maybe I wasn't using it right) and since I've never done this before I figured "well, the instructions say 22nm which it's set to so I'll just keep tightening until it clicks". Well that was apparently too much, and it ended up bending the bolts coming out of the engine and the brackets that come on the header. After I noticed this, I used a different torque wrench and re-torqued it and the tightness seemed much more normal, but it was too late and the damage from before has already been done. What kind of damage and repairs am I looking at here? (obviously will have a shop do it). Are those bolts coming out of the engine easily replaceable, or is it more serious than that? http://imgur.com/a/L3ghn http://imgur.com/a/vCYD0
  5. I recently purchased the KevMod O2 Controller from Ebay as a cheaper alternative to smooth out the low speed throttle. Shortly after it shipped out I decided to just go with a full ECU flash from 2WheelDynoWorks instead. Since it came from the other side of the world and I can't return it, I figured I'd see if anyone on here (in the United States) would be interested in buying it off me for a lower price. I haven't even opened the package so it's still brand new. I paid $117 USD, so offering it for $80 USD +shipping

  7. Your kit didn't come with any pins?Nope www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/puig-sport-footpegs
  8. @madeuce216 Once I get that off, I assume I'll need to buy a replacement. Would this work? http://www.ebay.com/itm/40-x-8-Motorcycle-Foot-Peg-Rest-Pins-Mounting-Bolt-Honda-Yamaha-Kawasaki-Suzuki-/350993654654?hash=item51b8da237e:g:QToAAMXQVERS9Jh9&vxp=mtr
  9. @BBB Wouldn't a drill just drill a hole? I'm not sure how to cut the end of something off using a drill.
  10. I bought a set of puig sport rider footpegs. Right one went on fine, but the left one does not seem to have a removable pin. I do not own any power tools and have never used them on a bike before so my DIY experience is minimal. Can someone explain the best way to get this thing off? Tools needed and pictures would be a definite help! Thanks
  11. I see you've linked back to the OP. I'm not sure what I'm supposed to gather from that. I don't recall coming across an instance of an FJ-09 owner reporting what you are describing. I've heard people describe TCS as the engine cutting out. I'm not saying I didn't miss it, I just don't recall. Do you have a link to that thread? I'd love to know if there was a disposition on that issue. I'd also like to make sure it was an actual issue instead of a "someone said someone else had that problem" hearsay type of thing. Disclaimer, my memory isn't always the best. There's a 20-30% chance that if that thread exists I've posted on it. Lol. Didn't mean to link to anything haha, not even sure how it got there...still trying to figure out how to use this site, it's much different than Reddit which is what I'm used to. Here is the thread I was reading http://fj-09.org/thread/1967/engine-shut-off
  12. I've only had honda bikes so I'm so used to their reliability. Love my CB500X but it just doesn't have enough power/torque
  13. The clutch cable is really the main thing I'm concerned about. There is no reason a clutch cable should be fraying or snapping every few thousand miles
  14. traction control keeps the front wheel on the ground by cutting engine power. That's what TCS does on all vehicles (modulates power when differences in wheel speed are detected). You can turn it off and wheelie all you want. I've not heard of power being cut while maintaining a constant speed on a clean surface, other than the obvious, running out of fuel. Traction control is one thing, but people were saying the engine literally would shut off and not turn back on so they'd have to grab the clutch and coast to a stop. This is not normal Read more: http://fj-09.org/thread/2802/looking-get-fj-09?page=1#ixzz3uP8MRJjk
  15. Looking to get an FJ-09, but from what I've been reading here there seems to be a lot of issues and recalls with these. Things like clutch cables snapping every couple thousand miles, ABS acting funny, engines randomly cutting out at speed, and things like that kind of freaks me out a bit. My current bike is pretty bullet proof and hasnt had a single issue in the 10k miles I've put on it this season, so it makes it harder to give up that peace of mind for something that seems more unpredictable. Are these bikes generally reliable? I really love the style and everything they offer, so I hope it's something I would be happy with in the long run. Is there anything I should look out for when it comes time to purchase one?
