@FJr i wont be able to make it tomorrow as my bike is still not put back together, (busy week) i hope to have it done over this long weekend and then can meet up coffee soon. I think we should be able to get at least 3 or 4 FJs together. I wonder what the record is.

I should be able too

I too just installed new shock (Ohlin's) and had the same amount of play.I think it's all good. Matt said 1-2mm is not unusual, there is no other play in any direction other than the side-to-side. Also, once I put weight on the rear suspension and loaded the shock, I couldn't move it at all. I may have been overthinking it a bit. I can see how it would be bad to have it too snug and binding, it would negatively hinder the swingarm movement and pivot point.

I installed my new rear shock today, what a pita, but thanks to this awesome forum I learnt some things that made it a lot easier, look forward to the start of my riding season next week.

It probably will not arise during a test-ride, but given the adverse comments here about chain-slack (or lack of) on earlier models it will be interesting to see what the newer model (or its Owner Manual) reveals in this regard..I didn’t do anything to my bike today but I did book to demo ride the new tracer 900 early April, let’s see how much it’s improved and I will report back findings.
The new models chain is still as tight as the older models , I tested that at trade show.

What did I do to my FJ today?
You mean besides installing shortly levers, a new clutch cable, and (wait for it...) the sweet new Bagster seat that arrived in the mail today?
Well, I took her to the beach to welcome in the new riding season, of course!
Awesome you got the seat, I cant wait to get my custom one made next month and hope to as happy as you are.

The ogio will not fit your mac well, it just fits my laptop at 12.5x9

That looks quite nice! Not as big as you wanted, I am really happy with my mine and fits so nice on fj. Used this for my last 8 day ride.

I wouldn’t want any bigger after using this one
Any reason why you say you wouldn't want bigger? Weight or does it start pushing against you?
any bigger and it will start to push into back and I guess I just like the size as it fits just right on the back and great price.

Went to mc shop to get the ticking noise looked at and was told cct needs replacing, but got given worse news in that my Chain and sprocket needs to be replaced after only 10k, this is due to having it too tight (Yamaha spec) I lossened it at 7k but I was to late. So I hope everyone reading this makes sure to loosen up chain. I tested it in shop and at 30cm on stand it was super tight when I sat on it so they had to loosen even more. This was at a non Yamaha shop as local dealer told me the ticking noise was normal and due to temp which I didn't believe. Frustining day to be had. Rant over.

For those looking to order reminder you can get different foam depending on your wieght, so much sure you get the right one when you order.

Awesome, more people means more reviews, looking forward to after ride reports guysI couldn't wait, I ordered one last week. I have several multi-day road trips coming up in the next 6-weeks and wanted it installed before the trips. On their website they claim a 10 to 14 business day lead time to get it made plus shipping time.
"During our busy season, our production lead time is approximately 10-14 BUSINESS DAYS as most of our covers, kits, and complete seats are made to order. This does not include weekends or holidays as we are likely out testing our products to better serve our valued customers! The lead time is a bit longer during our busy season and we will do everything we can to get your order to you as quickly as possible."

I think we are all waiting to get your report before we click on the buy.
I'll be putting-in a ~900km round trip next week (with a day off in-between out and back legs) so that will give me a good guide to the new seat's form - and foam! I'll post results and impressions on my return...With that much form how can it be bad, maybe I am over wishing and hoping for too much. -
