  1. LOL....when am going to try this mod on my bike? When I get it!
I seriously have to sell my Ducati 748R to @eatpasta when he bothers to come to Oz to pick it up!
The good lady of the house won't let me have 4 bikes....

So Ty, you didn't use gas with the Mig? C25, is this stainless fluxed core wire? I think the naming is different here. What gauge wire did you use? 0.9mm?
    Do you recall your settings?
Thanks go to you 3 pioneers of pipeworx!

    Cheers,
    Steve
  2. Lovely Ty!
right, got it now with removing the inside pipe. The Dremel tool will come in handy to do the inside part. Perfect, I have that covered!
I noticed only 4 small bead welds to secure the remnant S pipe to the cat chamber? Not all around?
If that's the case, even easier! The hardest part is to cleanly re weld the cover!
Is the muffler Stainless steel? Damn, will have to get stainless wire for the Mig.....
    Thanks again Ty & Ulewz!
    Cheers,
    Steve
  3. Ty,
you must show us some of the pics to see what you did on this version.
I'm thinking this is the direction I'll be taking since it doesn't require an extra piece of pipe.
Looking forward to your review & sound clips......
Cheers my good men! Pioneers of pipes!

  4. Wessie,
it would also greatly help if members mention their height (metric or imperial), the seat position & the screen (1 being the lowest, 3 being the highest of 3) position.
    Please gents.
Perhaps Wessie, a table could be created to assist others in determining which aftermarket or Y brand product would best suit.
Naturally, members opinions & reviews are always gratefully accepted.
After reading your review of the Powerbronze, I'm afraid that most if not all screens will oscillate since the attachments are narrow & low. No matter how curved the upper surface is, the bending is happening down low.
    Thanks for your input.
    Cheers,
    Steve
  5. Gents,
it was an extremely kind gesture from the salesman here in Japan. It will grace my garage wall simply because it's completely written in Kanji. Except for the MT-09 Tracer & "Sport and Multi Tool Bike" blurb!
    I love it!
Dmizer may be able to translate the other features blurbs, but, I'd reckon it'll be exactly the same as English!
However, the Japanese accessories pamphlet has more stuff in it I reckon.
    Cheers,
    Steve
  6. Hi kelpie,
nah, I'm currently on holidays in Japan atm.
When I return, I need to sell my Ducati 748R before I can pick up the Tracer that is actually set aside for me.k
Hopefully, it won't take too long. Just today, I saw a Tracer here in Japan at the shop for.....8,590 Yen. Before taxes naturally, but the kind man gave me a price ride away if I was Japanese for 10,850 Yen! Talk about getting reamed! Damn Australian taxes & robbery!
Anyway, He gave me a great brochure & accessories pamphlet to take away & recover!
He even started it for me! I only know a few words in Japanese and he worked extremely hard to sell it to me! I thanked him immensely, but didn't have the guts to say I'm getting one in Aus!
    Extremely lovely people here!
    Will keep you posted.
How are you going with your machine?
    C'mon, tell us!
    Cheers,
    Steve
  7. That sounds great Ty!
    Even from the other side!
That is really one cheap mod and gives you what we are all after, sounds of a triple!
    Great work mate!
You waiting on me to weld my system? No way, I'm crap at MIG. I have a TIG fella to do that!
I'm OK with a Dremel & grinder though!
    Cheers,
    Steve
  8. ;)Great work Ty!
So, you didn't cut your O2 sensor wire off then?
You & Papac have pioneered the work for a budget do it yourself pipe work!
1 question I asked Papac, could you have added a little bit more of the cut off pipe including the bend when you added it to your new hole to point it out towards the outlet? Like the photo you asked Papac about?
Would you get the required back pressure?
Other than that query, great work you two!
    Cheers,
    Steve
  9. ;)Welcome Lawrence!
    that is a good deal!
I didn't haggle since it is just release here in Victoria.

Wow, you are a keen chap! 76 still fighting fit! This bike will be perfect for you! That's the beauty about this bike, it's very light for what it is. Sure, the Multistrada is lighter, but also costs a bomb!
Good luck, tell us all about it! Going to Tassie again?
Perfect! I can visualise you tearing along Lake Plimsol road!
    Cheers,
    Steve
