  1. Quick update.

I've now had the light replaced under the manufactures warranty, it was touch and go though as the warranty had expired a couple of weeks previously.

On closer inspection I noticed that the led;s were flickering, or at least one was, I think it's down to poor solder joints caused by lead free solder.

Best to keep an eye on this as a new light will cost £150.00.

I'm not sure at what point you would fail an MOT due to defective LED's.

    Stay safe.

    Colin.

  2. Hi all

While out on a ride today one of my friends noticed that there was a couple of LED's out in the rear light.

The faulty LED's on the far left hand side (on all the time) , sometimes the two LED's are off and sometimes one appears to glow dimly, oddly when the brake is applied they come on. it sounds like a dry joint on the day light running side.

Has anyone else noticed this issue?

    Stay Safe.

  3. Hi Guys.

    I have a theory....

I noticed this on My FJR and on the Tracer, this appeared to be worse in damp weather and we put it down to there being a small amount of tyre rubber on the road from cars and lorries, this gets sprayed onto the hot parts of the exhaust and creates a smell like burning rubber.

The smell becomes less noticeable after a good rain storm and then the roads have dried as all the rubber gets rinsed away.

    And this is my theory.

    Be Good.

  4. I've just placed an order for the plug connector that connects to the Aux lead as I don't really want to cut the plug off I hope to get this sorted out so I can put the TomTom Nav back on.

I'm still getting to know the GT, went out Sunday it was a beautiful day and the bike got soaked........went through a road with a burst water main DOH, oh well I think you get to know the bike a bit more when you clean for the first time, one thing I found was watch out for the Tracer stickers they are a little sharp and will easily catch a Microfiber cloth and perhaps become damaged / pulled off.

    Have a good day.
