I bought a scorpion serket taper. You cut cat off (leaving headers) and replace with link pipe and can. They say no remapping needed even without dB killer, although I use one in mine, throaty but not annoying noisy.  You retain the sensor in headers so I think ? that adjusts fuelling. Not sure about M4 exhaust though.

I just might end up going that route. The wait time threw me off. Will be snow on the ground by the time it gets here. Was it you that posted a video on YT.?  Your baby cow statement stuck in my head.

  2. Good day,

I'm looking for some info on,

"Does a 6" DB killer restrict enough air to act as a Cat?  If the ECU has certain variances of adjusting fuel/air depending on altitude, temp etc.

Would it not restrict enough airflow to not need a Flash or PC V?

I'm plan to run a OEM chopped header with M4 Slip on, stock filter.

My reasoning is I once had a GPR Homologated Slip-on  with front and rear DB killer. They stated it did not need a different fuel map if both were used

If someone has some info on this I would greatly appreciate.

I am no superstar mechanic and limited knowledge on this stuff.

Don't beat me up if this has already been discussed but perhaps lead to me the stream!!!

    Cheers

    Hi everyone,

I have been riding for about 25 years and just bought a 2015 FJ09F today from Daytona. The bike is amazing and I am looking forward to put some mileage on it. I do most of the maintenance myself at the exception of valve clearance and or complex jobs that require specialized Yamaha tools.

    Cheers!

    Welcome.

Eastern part of the country. Season coming to a close. Another 6weeks and off to be she goes.

Till when do you ride in beautiful British Columbia?

I have to fill mine on the high side of the glass. After I change the oil/filter i fill it up to the mark on the glass. Start her up and let her run for several minuets.  Shut her down and cool off. Then check her and i usually have to add some. If I don't do this my light will come on like yours.

Filled up to top line and went for a ride.  No lights came on. I guess this bike like to be full. Didn’t even wait for the bike to fully warm up just to see and all good.  Sensors are so sensitive these days.  Funny because the bike was serviced at 1000km and the oil added was from the dealer. Once again you would think dealer would know this, but I am disappointed once again.

Are they doing it on purpose to do things half assed?

They once again are confirming that you should find a trust mechanic and never look back.

    They kill me.

    Thanks again for the info.

  5. Question please.

I posted a question concerning this issue about a month ago.

Got answers but pretty much all relating to oil level

when I start the bike up after riding for 5 minutes the engine oil light comes on as well as a general warning light (red exclamation point). The oil level Is perfect..

The only conclusion i have is either a sensor issue or the fact that my oil temp is too cold a sensor or something doesn’t read oil level or circulation well.  When I get over 72 degrees Celsius or 21 Fahrenheit it goes away. Only stays on for about 60-120 seconds never to come back on again.

I always let the bike warm up before I got but seems like not long enough.

never had this issue with other bikes I have owned.

    Thoughts anyone??
