let us know how the test ride goes with wind protection.
Its worlds better. The little Chinese MRA knock-off spoiler I had was better than stock, and kept the wind from smacking me in the middle of my helmet (I'm 5'8"). But any time on the highway and you notice the air hitting your shoulders from how narrow the stock screen was. Not the case any more...The air is pretty much dead in front of me and I can keep the screen low enough to look over the screen instead of through it. Very Happy with it.

It looks almost like it doesn't detract from visibility/field of view due to the slider being there anyways. Is this the case?
Yep. Its where the slider would have been. The madstad set-up replaces the adjustment system with a tilt & slide mechanism. That bit you grab to adjust the stock windscreen is removed and replaced with a metal frame

Yes it does, same functionality as stock.
You mentioned earlier that it eliminated the notorious "forward lean". Is that for the high or the low seat position? Or does it improve both?

Got my comfort seat from the dealer and drove about 40 miles. So far, so good. The forward lean is gone and it feels a little higher, but i think thats due to the lack of slant.
Id say stay tuned for further review but my motorcycle didn't like the idea of going back in the garage tonight. Pulled in, put my left foot down on a loose copper fitting that rolled from who knows where and my bike tried to make rough love to me on the concrete. Luckily, I broke my bikes fall with my tailbone and shins. Might be a bit before I use the seat "comfortably".
Sorry about the hard dock. I'm looking into the heated version of the comfort seat (which I presume is very similar). I was wondering if comfort seat fits into the low seat position. I'm 5'8" , so I need the vertically challenged option.

How involved was the install?
The install was very painless. Remove the windshield (4 bolts), remove the windshield slider (3 bolts) , install the companion parts almost 1 for 1. Very Easy.

Hi Guys and Gals,
Just got in my Madstad 22 inch windscreen and I'm pretty happy with the install. I've got the before and after pictures below. The RAM mount bolts directly to the new windshield frame (almost as if they designed it that way ) and hides behind the Madstad screen very nicely. I saw others post similar set ups. Haven't tested it out yet, but I am very much looking forward to it. Let me know if you guys have any questions!

Hey Guys and Gals,
Its my first post and I thought I'd share my recent Shad 58x top box installation. I did not like the SHAD rack or the SW Motech as much as the Yamaha OEM rack, so that complicated installation slightly. But as you can see from the photos, It can be done! I had to buy a few more bolts and washers than what the SHAD box came with, but I think the end result is quite nice.

SHAD 58X Top Box Mounted to Yamaha Rack

It is quite big, the advantage here is two up riding. The wife and I can go somewhere casually, put both of our helmets in the trunk and a jacket in each side pannier. That leaves two people without gear to haul around when we walk around at our destination. Hard to understate how nice that is.
If you want a bit smaller though, I would go with the Yamaha OEM top boxes for this rack. They have a smaller ones (35L and 50L i think) that are meant to pair with this rack. They look decent, and you can get a backrest with it.
