  1. Some years ago, I read an analyse of a french laboratory that, after analyses, conclude that new oil with additives that they contain, are diluting and washing all the impurities contained in the filter and pollute the oil.

Conclusion is when you change oil, it is highly recommanded to change also the filter.

A Hiflo 204 filter that fits the Tracer costs 7.5 euros ( about the same in dollars), and for that price it would be a pity not to change it (considering that sometime we change oil at low milage because of the time rather than the number of miles, that means oil could contain more humidity rather then metal dust)

  2. Have a look at this forum page 3 in the middle of the page (begins at message 22) https://www.mt09.net/t7873p60-installation-d-un-adaptateur-usb-12v-sur-une-tracer

It is in french (if you need I can help you to translate) and shows how to access to the aux connectors under the screen.

Otherwise as said previously you can connect to the tail light (I did it to connect my heated vest via a relay) by buying a connector like this https://fr.aliexpress.com/item/32905465583.html

  3. I made one to connect a relay for my DIY heated vest.

I used this kind of socket, (you can also find them here at AliExpress) made a pigtail using negative and positive tail light.

So I just have to unplug the pigtail and replug the original wiring to go back to genuine harness.

I'am really not fan of PosiTap, that damages the wires and even have been facing a problem of cut yarn

  4. As per the the owner manual page 3-25 quick shifter has to be used above 20 km/h (12 mi/h) and 2300 tr/mn, but doesn't work if clutch lever is pulled.

I've no habbit to use it and recognize that when I use it I'm always wondering if gearbox will explode 🙂, so I do not do it "naturally".

  5. I'm just transfering mine for the fourth time to my Tracer. (after 500 CB Honda; 750 GSXF Suzuki, 1200 Trophy Triumph and CBF1000 Honda)

I use Scottoiler since more than 15 years and never had any special mess : as said by littlebruv, you must set it correctly.(2 or 3)

I choose to fix the reservoir behind the left lateral case support with an aluminium support I made myself from a 1.5 mm thick aluminium plate bought at the nearest DIY shop.

I haven't any pic to show at this moment since I've not finished but will have some within one week.

  6. Hi all

    I'm also found of Scottoiler...

I bought vacuum one 18 years ago and transfer it on each bike I had since.

I've just bought yesterday a Tracer 900 GT and I'm looking for a good way to place the dual injector.

krucymucy : your system seems to be very efficient, using threaded hole already existing on the swing arm which has a very special shape without any plane surface.

Are you happy with this system ?

What is the thickness of the metalic part ?

Do you add any sticking device under the swing arm to have a better adherence of the metallic part with the swing arm ?

I think I wil try to do the same support, a drawing with mesurments of yours should be very appreciated.

    Thanks

    Denis
