So, after many additions, adjustments and tinkering’s I've almost found my Nirvana with my 2015 machine.

But (there's always a but isn't there?), I'm wanting to 'fix' a couple of remaining bugbears that I have and am turning to the learned many that lurk within these hallowed forum corridors for suggestions and/or advice.

OK here they are in no particular order:

    • I replaced my OEM screen with a PUIG sport screen some time ago, tried it in all three positions but found no real change in wind noise and buffeting in any of the positions.  The other day I put the old OEM one back on to remind myself why I changed it in the first place and found that on the highest position the air was hitting at the top of the helmet and allowing a nice airflow into my SHOEI GT AIR top vent but giving me a bit of a head buffeting at the same time.  I also noticed that with my visor just cracked open (it's wicked hot here ATM if you haven't heard) gone was the turbulence and associated noise that I was getting with the PUIG, and it was comfortable.  So, the question here is - do I add one of those clip-on air spoiler dohickies to the top of the OEM or look for a slightly taller/different shaped screen or go the other way and have a really small screen that lets the turbulence hit me lower down in the chest?  I should add that the riding weather here is mostly on the warmer to hot side so don't need or even want a big screen.  I would like to keep things as compact as possible in that department.
    • I wear ATGATT and my go to jeans are a BULLIT COVEC fully lined pair with knee and hip protectors which while I'm very happy with in the cooler few months in Winter, they are VERY hot and heavy to wear in the (far greater) warmer months.  Is there an alternative good quality jean/pants that offer high protection while keeping the temperature down?  Is there such a thing?
    • I've been wearing PINLOCK ear plugs and while I like the level of sound attenuation that they provide, they have an annoying tendency to either pop out as I put the helmet on or worse, while riding.  Requiring me to stop, remove the gloves, helmet, stick one or the other back in, get redressed and hope it doesn't happen again.  I'm sure you've all been there at one time or another.  As an alternative I occasionally use the cheap soft foam type plugs which do stay in but really attenuate all sounds a bit too much!  Is there a better way? Wax plugs, custom moulded... other?  I did find this thread that was informative.

Ok I think that's all of my gripes for the moment.  I'll be back after a few more kilometres/miles to reopen the 'which new rubber do I get for my wheels' debate.

Cheers and thanks for any advice you're able to offer from your personal experiences.

You must be very, very lonely.

    Hi Folks,
I thought it would be a fantastic idea to find out what colour FJ-09 you have OR would select?
The production number thread is great, but it doesn't tell us the most selected colour by you, the members!
:'( I don't have one yet....damn Australia! But I will be selecting a Matt Grey colour. It won't go any faster....it'll be fast enough! So, no replies of which colour is faster!
Just for a bit of trivia....

    Cheers,
    Steve

For what it is worth, not going into the psychology of colour choice in our daily lives, would take too long: but to get to the point of your mundane query, mine is Red, especially after a hard night, Oh, I digress, that's another subject entirely. Yes, mine is Red and sore. There ya go Tracerforme.

  3. Hello to all you members. I've just signed into this site. I live in the Lovely city of Swansea, South Wales, in the UK. I don't own a bike @ the moment as my previous bike, a Honda VFR1200F was stolen three weeks ago. It hasn't been recovered. I'm planning to buy a Yamaha MT 09 Tracer nearer to the Summer time, as it's coming Winter soon. I'm so impressed with the Tracer 900 I don't know why I've never looked at one before! l'm a mature rider, in fact I'm 63. You could say I'm a returning rider as I only started riding again a year and a half ago. So, bring on the Summer.
