  2. I found the service manual (yep, the shop manual (681 pages) not the owner manual (128 pages) for the 2019 900 GT somewhere in the numeric world... 228 Mo PDF

It's an US version but I think it won't bother many people 'round here ;)

Will I be thrown away of this site if I put it on a post so that anyone who needs it can download it ?

Maybe someone else has already answered the initial question but sorry, didn't take time to go through the 41 pages of replies ;)

I found these three reviews of the Tracer 9 GT (yeah, it's the new name) and three ''essais routiers''. All in french though (but Google translate is your friend...).

Looks like there quite a number of changes (too many to write it down) but I don't know if it will be all on north american  models.

You’re forgiven 😁. It’s a good enough explanation of volume/pressure/temperature relationships. Much easier than arguing frictional forces, tyre wall flex, contact patches, viscoelastic forces in tyre composition etc etc.

I keep this example in mind, it will be an excellent question for the chemistry exam next week.

It reminds me the good old engineering school days - Heat transfer exam (10 points): Which beer is cooling faster in a fridge, horizontally or vertically ? (Do not ask, I don't remember the answer (and still less the calcs))

  5. Did a short 30 mile ride on highway to get the latest Ken Follett novel. Quite (way too) fast to get there before 9pm. It was 7C (45F) outside... T-shirt under a perfecto (a good one though), jeans, running shoes, open face helmet, no gloves. Even if the heated grips helped a lot, I'm still freezing behind my computer...

Yep, another summer is dead here in Québec.

I was concerned about dragging the center-stand also. So I ground about half of the rubber stop away. With the shorter stop the center-stand does not interfere with the exhaust. I also have a riding style from doing track days where I hang off a bit and this keeps the bike a little more upright. The real fix was updating to Ohlins suspension with the correct spring weight.

    Thx for your answer

It is almost certainly the spring rate too low for the combined weight of you and your passenger. If you have increased the preload to the maximum you only have two options: trim the rubber stop on the centre stand so it sits slightly higher, or more importantly a higher rate shock spring (even better, a new, better shock that has been sprung for your combined weight).

Thx for your suggestions. I'll increase the preload and make few roadtests with another passenger that my girlfriend whom is too easy to frighten in curves ;) .

  8. I'm a new owner of a 900GT. Very satisfied so far but I noticed that when I have a passenger, the center stand is touching the road very (too) soon while taking curves at not so high speed (let's say at twice the speed suggested by the yellow panels). On all my other bikes, pegs were touching the road way before the center stand. Even if I have hardenned the front and rear suspension settings, it's still going on. Anyone experienced this or have any suggestions (but removing the stand) ?
