  1. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ I absolutely love this part, you are a legend.. Well guns aren't legal where I am, so I'd imagine the gunsmith screwdrivers are a bit of a niche market locally, but I'll have a look around regardless, thank you peteinpa
  2. I'll be honest I'm not really so so on the composition of metals, but I'm assuming your suggesting that that pick this combination so this doesn't/shouldn't happen? Could it possibly be to hot? I use this bike almost every day, when I'm not riding for pleasure I also use it for work on delivery work, so there's a lot of on off and sitting at traffic lights prehaps this could be causing a problem?
  3. I also have the 2015 model, if where looking at your picture the one that was stuck was the far left one
  4. Seems to be a struggle finding a kit with flat heads, I saw there's options on the link you gave, but was hoping to find some local (UK) any idea what size JIS flat head it is? I found this set on ebay, but it only has one flat head labeled "6"
  5. Hi, This might sound like a crazy question to ask, but what screw driver is everyone using for throttle body syncs, it's a small flat head right? I took it apart last night, for a throttle body sync after finding and fixing a vacuum leak last week, and noticed strangely enough either it was masking the vibration because I was so focused on the primary issue or that the vacuum leak was somehow keeping it in sync even though it was out? I don't know.. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ While doing the sync I find One of the screws, the one I needed to adjust was absolutely stuck. I tried every bit and driver I had till I found one that fitted best, but it still didn't fully fill the space, and to my impatience and frustration, ended up totally stripping it out, My question would be what is every one using? Is there a "perfect fit" tool apart from the official wayyy to expensive yamaha tool And has anyone had experience with a stuck screw and how could I have gone about it any differently for the future, what's the best preventative method, can I Lube it up, prehaps copper grease or is that a big no no incase it gets past in to the cylinder somehow? Cheers!
  6. Wow oh wow. I Cheak every pipe, did I check the vacuum nipple? Nope.. Could I get a fork though the hole that was in it, yes. Feel like a right twat for missing that.. Replaced and I can confirm it's completely resolved my issue. Thank GOD
  7. When you say original, what are you referring too? I use my bike for work and plan to keep it for a long time so I would consider it regardless of price.. I mean I even have a spare engine πŸ˜‚ But I haven't been able to get anything connected to my 2015 ecu. Error code 60 seems to point at ycct check fuses, I remember having error code 60 and it was a blown fuse how ever I also couldn't start the bike, don't know what your symptoms are. See screen shot for other possibles
  8. Hi skipperT, Well I think I have a vacuum leak and was hoping to have a look at fuel trim data with hopes it would confirm it, but all my pipes look good. I THINK it's miss firing, and at idle I'm sure it doesn't quite sound smooth, as it should but you know when you've been trying to sort a small issue like this for so long your just not sure anymore πŸ˜‚πŸ˜… It's most notible while moving slowly for eg round a corner, in traffic, or bad weather and your trying to ride "safe" Occasionally it's almost as if there's a miss fire or momentary loss of power that causes the nose to dive and then kicks back in, making corners quite the issue. Now I know you might be quick to tell me that these bikes are snatchy and don't I know it, but I've had it flashed and since then has been as buttery as you can get a fuel injection bike πŸ˜‚ so I know its not that. I've recorded a video showing idle and a few revs, cheaking my dash cam as we speak to see if I cna find a clip of it happening in the corner. Not that it will be a very useful view but you should be able to hear the "cut" I'm talking about When at wide open throttle it's not a problem at all, and is definitely worse when the bikes cold. On the video the bike is warm
  9. The problem seems to be with the 2015 model, that one states 2016 onward. Can you confirm you have a 2015 and it works..?
  10. Hi there, as I understand it, the 2015 mt09 tracer dosnt work with the odb tools? Anyone confirm this and prehaps have a solution? I'm trying to get more live data that I can't get with the dash diagnostics Cheers!
  11. Thank you guys for all your replies and support, so I've got a new symptom as off tonight, It's been on and off light rain and the above issues have intensified, now regardless of hard acceleration the lights flickers above 4k rpm and feels like the power bogs down, if I twist a little it doesn't feel or sound right, but twist enough it suddenly barks back to life.. @skipperTPrehaps your on to something with the corrosion... I'll have to check my connections as I'm sure I could have at least one of those unsealed wire taps prehaps that's the cause. @BBB I need to replace the speedo healer harness anyway so think that is my next call of action. @peteinpaThe fog lights are Led, I hope there not going! Weren't cheap! @keithu Completely forgot about heated jacket how ever its rearly used, mainly just for touring
  12. Hmm interesting, I'll have to have a look at that.. Because I'm pretty sure I have a broken wire on the speedo healer, as once or twice now my speedo will flash 0 and then back to the speed I'm going, while we're on if memory serves us I think it plugs in between the rear wheel speed sensor and the rest of the bike? I 've been putting off replacing the cable, prehaps I should just do it and see what happens.. But question, I assumed this was purely for knowing speed, tsc and abs, so how would this effect lights ect?
  13. Hi peteinpa, thanks for the reply, So not sure how helpful the battery voltage is gunna be to you as I do leave it on a battery tender, but I unplugged it and took a key out reading, it's at 13.16v And as for when running I read between 14.3 and 14.31v turned off any non stock loads so that's as it comes from the factory. Should it be bang on 14.4? Yeah lots of stop start, I do have everything running through switched power sources so I'm not TOO worried about slow drain, pluss it never really gets more than 3 days off and plugged in soo.. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ Poor bike..
  14. Hi there, im new to the forum, can't believe I didn't find this forum sooner, it's rife with amazing information that could have stopped many a headache. Anyhow moving on. So I'm still fairly new to motorcycles, been riding 5 years, so I'm learning as I go, so please be patient with me πŸ˜‚πŸ˜… I have the 2015 mt09 tracer and think I have a electrical problem, prehaps wiring loom or rectifier? I thought maybe battery but it's not long been replaced last week, and no change so that's out of the question So my symptoms are present under hard acceleration, and when I absolutely peg it they get more intense, occasionally it sounds a little rough, I couldn't quite figure it out what was causing it, so if I turn my denali fog lights on low beam, no problems, If I turn full beam on its fine while throttle is anywhere from 0 - 20ish percent, but any more than that and the fog light full beam starts flashing almost in tune with the revs, it's got to be a electrical problem right? But the question is where do I point the finger, any tips or where to look and how to test with basic tools would be greatly appreciated, I have a multimeter, but don't confuse me for someone that knows what there doing with itπŸ˜‚ Also occasionally it's almost like I hit a fake rev limiter and it boggs down and backfires all in quick succession and then it's all back to normal, to be fair its only happened twice in the last few months but I'm sure it's linked.. Would a faulty rectifier cause this or am I more likely looking for a wiring loom problem? A little background on the bike and how it's used, So she's got 65k on the clock, I am a courier and do roughly 25k a year, so she's a work horse but I'd like to say she gets very well looked after, with all the required maintenance usually before the service manual calls for it, oil changes are once a month regardless of if I've hit 6k, just figured all the starting and stopping, I'd rather not have a engine go boom just because I skimped out on oil. My bike is faaar from stock, I've got the following electronics Denali d4 led pods Innov k2 dashcam Denali sound bomb Heated grips (OEM) Healtech Quickshifter Healtech speedo healer Smart turn system auto canceling turn signal Is this prehaps just the case of to much load..? If this was the case would it not be a problem from the get go? I haven't added any new electronics for a good year, and only having this problem in the last 2 months. Well ladies and gentlemen, I think it's time I let you speak, so with that, over to you! -
