I live in a very warm area. South Florida. So here are my 2 favorite (so far) jackets.

For local travel and weekend trips I use a Rev-it wind mesh jacket. Well made, breathes good enough for Florida. After about 6 months of near daily use the only 2 things I don't like are the main zipper (Small and figgety especially with gloves on)  and the color (silver/black) hard to keep clean.

A simple, yet elegant solution for the heat of summer riding, the REV’IT...

The jacket I use for the rare cold days here and for long trips is a Firstgear Kilimanjaro. So far it has been near perfect. Waterproof (for real) vents really well considering what it is. I haven't been caught in really hot weather yet so YMMV.

My only beef about it so far is the weight. It weighs a ton.

Looking for a 3 to 4 season waterproof adventure touring jacket? Look no...

Are we twins?  I have the same 2 jackets with the kili in gray and rev'it in black.

  2. Spoke with the folks at Cogent, very nice and tried to understand goals instead of just pushing spending all the money.   They can ship the shock, and could work on the forks if i sent them, but won't be taking any service work on whole bikes.  I'm feeling comfortable doing the rear shock myself but not the forks, so the search continues.

  3. Today I downloaded the Calimoto app, and would strongly recommend it. it's a GPS app that will plot your course on twisty roads to your destination.  You can record your ride to repeat or share, and can try rides from other users.  The round trip feature lets you pick a distance, then will come up with a random round trip route back to your location, and on twisty roads.  I will often only get to ride for 2 hours or so, and I think this will make for more entertaining rides when on a schedule.

I'm not compensated for this review in any way, just wanted to share something I really liked!

Mods, please move if this is in the wrong sub, thanks!
