"The QS does not let you down shift unless you are off of the throttle."

This makes no sense, I get holding steady or backing off  but OFF throttle?

So if I have the fastest red 15 with slipper, McCruise, Razor R & front forks massaged, Flash, case guards, Sargent, Shad SH36 & SH46 top cases, Street naked bars, 3 screens, modified QR screen adjuster, skid plate, and many many more mods, it's not worth upgrading?  But for $15k, I'd maybe look for a used full optioned S1000XR...

This is a normal behavior of the down blipper.  You have to be off the throttle when shifting down. What the down blipper does is rev match automatically.  This is one of the smoothest I have ever used.  Have experience with the Triumph Speed Triple RS and BMW R1250RT QS/DB and the Tracer beats them both in my opinion.

    Congrats.

Still waiting mine and dealer said he got no info so far.

Ordered Dec.2020, location: New York City, USA

I'll wait another month if still nothing I'll cancel the deposit and get a S1000XR, only got like 5 month to ride this year..

If I had the funds, the S1000XR would be my choice.  That is a great choice!

Recommend giving the brakes a chance, they really need some miles to “bed in”, unless of course you’re looking for a more sport bike-like braking experience.

    my $0.02,

    -Skip

will def take your advice.  I hope to ride this bike bone stock for some time and not have to add anything to this bike.  appreciate your .02

  4. Initial Impressions:

Front Brakes:  It sucks.  Will need to replace the pads and get some steel braided lines.

    QS & DB:  Butter.  Perfect.

Handling:  I have only demoed the Tracer 900GT so I can't compare but I had an MT09 and it feels more refined.  Handling is quick and smooth.  But I have only rode it for 35 miles.  😁  Feels lighter than my T7.  I think it is because it's bottom heavy.  The T7 is top heavy.  I can definitely move around the bike in my garage with less effort than the T7.

Suspension:  So much better than the MT09.  Very compliant.  I have to play around with the settings when I get more ride time.

Well, looks like I don’t have to worry about getting shot in the face tomorrow night. Heading home soon from the dealer with my 2021. Am I the first in the US on this forum?

Wow, congrats!  I thought someone from the NE had one.  Doesn't matter, you have one.  Enjoy!

Yeah, I wonder too. The dealer that’s just 20 minutes away has a $3000 dollar mark up on the Tracer. I was thinking of skipping them, or since it’s only 20 minutes away go in and see if I can get that down to $1000 or so. This dealer has about 5 new Goldwing on the floor too with about $5000 dollar mark up so I hope it’s just them locally that is being ridiculous. They are not open today. I would have shopped yesterday but I was riding with friends.

3k mark up!  🤮  Pass and run!

More received them since Friday. I have one that is open today (Sunday), but it’s far away. I may go see if I can work a deal, or wait till Tuesday and do the same with more local dealers.

Seems like a lot of west coast dealers and TX received them recently.  Wonder how popular it will be.

People use too much air overall, that's the biggest mistake. You should literally feel the air moving between the chambers when adjusting your butt around. You don't want to hit the seat pan, but also don't want it to feel like a blow up raft. Once dialed in it's simply amazing and I can ride and ride and ride, so yeah less is always better with the air amount, and it's so easy/quick to adjust for the perfect feel.

    Thanks for the tip!

I'm talking Airhawk models in general working very well for most any seat, they have a much larger fanbase than you are giving them credit for.....but yeah to each their own and with their hard earned money. And no not rocket science how to use them, but I assure you many are/have been using them wrong. I just cannot justify $400 plus dollars on a custom seat or Corbin/Sargent ever again, and yeah I've owned more than a few on different bikes of what I just mentioned. I also get less monkey butt or chafing on an AH, allows everything to breathe/circulate much better. LOL

Can you give us some pointers on how it should be used please?  I have a long ride planned on my Yam T7 and purchased the AH on a whim hoping anything would help.  I have a Seat Concepts comfort seat on it and it is better but starts hurting on hour 2-3.

  10. I use Helinox.

In Amazon, plenty of knock offs but Helinox has quality parts and very light.  You definitely pay for the engineering and quality of the materials.

    Stock.
With some nice red stitches and Alcantara material. If you choose Yamaha Icon Performance you get blue stitches.
Standard tracer 9 comes with leather seat but somehow my butt felt more comfortable with Alcantara.

Dang...now I am more looking forward to taking delivery of mine!

  12. So my dealer called me and said that next Friday, they will have it.  it is on the truck now to be delivered.  But I ordered liquid metal and the Red is being delivered.  Will look at the red and see if I can live with the color.

Nope still waiting. The dealer I though that had one pulled a bait and switch with me for a for a red (hahah you mean orange?) tracer 900 gt. Yamaha is completely unhelpful. It looks like they just showed up in dealers in the UK tho

Seems Yamaha is the only manufacturer having issues.  Other brands seems to be doing fine.  I called Yamaha and they said that less is being produced due to the pandemic.  But how about the other brands?  How are they being able to deliver?  I also gave them a hard time asking why their website states availability in April and they started getting defensive and started being rude.
