  1. Thank you all for the warmth welcome. @HGP61 I hope it gets warmer for you to ride soon maybe early Spring? @pelayo I picked the worst time to do my 1k round trip to Cali, it was Summer time with 100F+ heat, was just sweating bullets the whole time, had to stop every hour to stay hydrated. @texscottydThank you and yes I agree I got the bike from DMT (Dream Machines of Texas), no bs, straight up price and they even handle shipping so I don't have to deal with uShip. But yes I can't stall the bike on 1st even if I want to, it starts to throttle up till the clutch is disengaged. Only time I can stall it is if I have the kickstand down and shift into 1st. And MAYBE if I start on 2nd as it doesn't throttle assist there. Maybe previous owner was a new rider and had this feature programmed into the ECU? I really wish I can disable it easily like in the menu.
  2. Mine is also 2019 Niken GT. Initially I was looking at non-GT but then I came across a GT which was even better. Now I'm suspecting this "feature" is just on my bike. That's the problem buying from a dealer (I got this from Texas) They usually have no clue the history of the bike vs buying from a private party. I'll probably stop by Yamaha dealer later and ask about this (just didn't want to look stupid if it was a simple button or something from my menu)
  3. Thank you, yes it's definitely a trike that needs some balancing work. Previously I have a Kawasaki Versys 1000 (still do, trying to sell it) before that FZ-07 that was a fun bike. No problem, appreciate the reply. I'm still scratching my head but yes every time I let the clutch out 1/2 way it starts to throttle. It only assist on 1st from a stop, I don't like it at all but it does seem to have a steady throttle as I release the clutch. Great feature if you're new and prevents stalling... I might have to stop by a Yamaha dealer and see if they know. It took a while to get this Niken GT as my initial dealer I've purchased the bike from somehow "LOST" it when my shipping guy about to go pick it up. Gave me some bs excuse how their partner "auctioned" it off without letting them know. (right..) They straight up took my money and sold (my bike) to the highest bidder. I got the money back but still, wasted my time. I don't do a lot of long trips (did 1k miles round trip once and that wore me out) but I am planning to get another (shorter) trip out soon.
  4. Hello all, new here and new to Niken. It was tough to find one but I'm so glad I did. For the life of me I've checked the manual and browse via the messages here I cannot figure this out. When I shift to 1st and let the clutch out about halfway, it does this throttle assist which I really not a fan of. Is there a way to turn this off?? Or did I get a lemon niken with a special feature? Thank you in advance
