PSR cam chain tensioner

Recommended Posts

I bought and installed the PSR cam chain tensioner, last year. I would NOT recommend it. Spend the extra money and buy the APE brand. Unless you are not planning on keeping the bike for very long. Very little adjustment left with the PSR, after installation.

I will end up replacing it down the road. Hope this helps.

Thanks for your answer Kurt. I saw your post in the tech bulletin thread and that's why I created this thread to see if other members tried this CCT.

Was your cam chain worn by the oem tensionner before installing it?

No known wear. Factory CCT was working fine. I just did not want to have a problem a thousand plus miles from home. I had bought some other PSR products and was happy with them, so I bought the CCT. It needs a longer adjustment bolt and it would be fine. About 3MM of adjustment left. APE seems to have 8 or 9MM.

Thanks
I still thinking about giving it a try.
I owned a DRZ 400 that had a MCCT, never had to ajust it after the installation and I sold it at 77 000miles so 3mm would be enought if the chain doesn't slack more.

If they were the same price, it would be an easy choice :/ lol
