I’m a mechanic by trade for 30+ years. ASE Master Medium/Heavy truck tech and ASE Master Engine Machinist But have worked on everything from Ground effect flying boats to  multi million dollar buses to oldest hit and miss engines. Been riding dirt bikes since a child but got into street bikes kinda late in life. I consider myself a newbie on the street scene. I’ve had a 1200 super tenere and currently am riding a 2015 fj-09. The s-10 was too big for my 5’7” 150” body. Plus I like speed. I also own a 5th gen ZL1   
I hope I have some knowledge that will help you al out but some of you guys amaze me with your knowledge. Guys who aren’t mechanics by trade could run circles around me when talking bikes so thanks in advance. I’ve already learned so much from you all.
