Found that the pic I posted was of one someone on the internet had photoshopped the color. Too bad, but maybe it will push Yamaha to consider it down the road.

Could the issue of the bracket breaking be more of a problem with it's (the bracket) design, not so much if a specific larger windshield is being used?I didn't think the stock brackets were strong enough for a tall windshield.

I recently swapped out the pegs to the ones shown above in hopes that they would help minimize the buzz in the pegs- not much difference noticed. Mainly an issue running at 70-75mph. Anyone find a trick to lessen the peg vibes?

I bought a set of levers, both adjustable, from The2Wheels.com. Seem to work pretty well, so far worth the price. The stock clutch lever on the FJ needed to go. http://www.the2wheels.com/index.php?route=product/product&path=173_171_186&product_id=541FIRST SERVICE, NEW PANNIERS, AND NEW LEVERS
The new aftermarket levers were also fitted – again gratis. These levers are the only bit of near-‘bling’ on this bike, but apart from their attractive and high-quality look I really bought them as my small-ish hands benefit from the adjustable-span clutch lever. On the out-of-the-box bike only the front brake lever can be adjusted. Yes – I’m wondering why too! They are beautifully made – AUD$58 post-free – and can be had in a variety of anodized colours.

Duhs10, maybe that type of lock would work with the saddlebags after seeing your picture with bags in place.
-
Too bad that type of lock won't work too well for those who use any type of saddlebags.https://tracer900.wordpress.com/2016/07/17/helmet-lock/

I found this on the interwebs... I don't know where you can order it from, but its a start.

Has anyone found a way to minimize the vibration in the right footpeg?
Have swapped the original ones to the FZ-6/FJR style with the rubber pad but the vibration coming through the peg around 5k rpm's is annoying.

When using the type of mirror extender above there can be clearance issues with the handlebar controls? Thanks, xc and Northern. I haven't seen those smaller mirrors, but they look pretty neat in both senses of the word! I found on an earlier Tracer that the M Factory mirror risers/ extenders worked very well indeed, with or without adding the small mirrors. These extenders both [strong]lift up[/strong] and [strong]extend outwards[/strong] the OE mirrors - by 35mm and 60mm respectively - and these too greatly improve rearwards vision. Beautifully made too - $26.60 - [em]see pic...[/em]

The mirror extenders like these or similar also work well, but at a higher cost:http://koubalink.com/mirror.html

Regarding the 2 different chain adjusters shown in the last couple posts, how critical is it really for the tolerance of the adjuster to capture the head of the axle. Once the axle is tightened to the proper torque spec. does it make enough of a difference to be concerned?
-
On the LighTech, looks about the same? Check here and zoom in on the picture. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Lightech-Chain-Adjuster-Black-for-Yamaha-R1-R1M-2015-2016-/371803309553?hash=item56913445f1:g:spYAAOSwo4pYERwn&vxp=mtr
From the picture online it appears the eBay adjusters have some generous tolerances between the axle nut and adjuster.I'm looking into going with these off of eBay, very similar to the LighTech adjusters:

thetruck454, do the LighTech adjusters fit tight against the "flats" on the other end of the axle?
-
It's by Lightech. It has a very precise scale and the adjusters at the end have detents when you spin them so it's very easy to align the rear tire. It also positively locates the rear axle so you don't have to worry about it moving on you as you tighten the axle nut back up.@thetruck454 - Nice. Which adjusters are those?

Did the same as wordsmith, removed the sticker from the fuel tank.
Also cleaned up the drive chain and then lubed it with my new "Grease Ninja" chain oiler-worked as advertised, quick & easy! http://www.greaseninja.com/

Our local Harley dealers will walk around the bike with you when drop it off and note any pre-existing marks, damage, etc. on your bike-more shops should do that! Not only did I mark up the parts to be replaced, but I washed the bike and then took detailed photos and videos of my tank. They scratch my beautiful red paint job on the tank and I swear by Grabthar's Hammer, there will be hell to pay.

I went looking for more info on the R3 part and found this-is it just a gimmick or
http://www.ebay.com/itm/CNC-Easy-Pull-Clutch-Activator-for-Yamaha-YZF-R25-R6-R3-FZ-09-Triple-MT-09-25-03-/182397545601
Says fits the FZ, but not FJ.

What feedback have the FZ09 owners given-do they notice a change for the better?

Looking at mine, all the bolts are the same size, no issues with the threads. http://www.ebay.com/itm/112044146160?_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AITPiotrek, I bought the same side stand piece and it stripped the threads on the two bolts in the middle, that are used to stop the assembly wobbling. I would suggest not over tightening.
-
Piotrek, I bought one a while back, found it will come in contact with the centerstand when you raise the side stand-cut off/ground off the aluminum so it clears now. Otherwise a nice piece for $10.

Installed a pair of the Koubalink mirror extenders as well as a Kappa-branded KR2122 rack & top case plate KM5M for use of my Givi top case.
Ordered the Kappa items (identical components as GIVI but saved $20!) from Tour and Ride on Monday, received on Wednesday!

It's not just the hole letting road grime through, it's lack of a proper hugger/rear fender.
I don't think just plugging that small hole will do much.
You may want to make a mud guard/splash guard like redfjniner made, it would be more effective than plugging the hole you referenced.

Checked with Flash Tune and their response is that it is not in their development plans (to have a cruise control option with their ecu tunes for the FJ-09.)
-
Add to that the cost of the Super Tenere switch housing for about another $140. If I were to add cruise today, I'd tend to lean towards the McCruise & ST switch housing. Has been proven to work w/o issue. For the record. I would buy a one button cruise flash (that worked and was reliable) for more than $300 too.
The McCruise is $500+ US without shipping (from Australia) or installation.
Just my $.02
