  1. How do you like the heated grips? [/quoted]

I think I'll like them. The reason I say that is it was 80°f yesterday so I don't know what it's like in the cold. I will say that even on the lowest setting, 30%, I could feel it through my summer gloves. It's not uncommon for it to be in the 30s in the mornings here but warm to in the 70s for my ride home at this part of the year so I think they are going to be a big help.
  2. Finished installing the Oxford grips then test rode it for a while seeing what it's like with the new Givi touring screen at each different height at 75mph. Some very loud buffeting in all heights but it's much quieter with my helmet visor open in all positions. With it closed it sounds like my head is inside a bass drum. I like the sight lines much better with it in the low position but it buffets nearly twice as badly than in the highest position. If I slouch slightly with it in the highest position I'm completely in clean, quite air but I have to look through the screen which I don't like. I think some fettling will get it sorted. It is much better than stock as far as blocking wind and the loudness of the buffeting.

  3. Made my fat shorty windscreen...

Looks great. Clear is nice. Let us know how it performs.
Did a little three hour ride this morning and I like it. The turbulent wind hits me at about my collar bones, nothing but smooth air around my helmet. Felt good at 90mph and feels great at lower speeds, plenty of airflow.

I liked the clear too but unfortunately I was cleaning the bug guts off of it when I got home and  grabbed a rag full of metal swarf and proceeded to scratch the piss out of it.

Good old black Plasti Dip  to the rescue. Not the look I wanted but it's only temporary anyway, the stock screen will go back on when it cools off and I'll likely actually spend some money on an aftermarket shorty for next spring. Or make another one...

  4. Made my fat shorty windscreen. Followed the stock screens lower profile just made it two inches wider and much shorter.

Made two mistakes. First, I thought the adjuster was in the lowest position when I marked to drill the holes, it was in the highest. So the screen is slightly lower than I anticipated.

Secondly, the first pattern was nice and symmetrical but the hand guards hit, I wasn't as careful marking it the second time so when I cropped the corners I got it very slightly off. Just enough to bug the crap out of me.

I've got enough to do it again but I'm going to ride it like this for a while to see if I want to make any changes to it.
