  1. Thank you for contacting MadStad. We would love to build a windshield system for the Tracer 9 but we haven't had a chance to get our hands on one. If you happen to live in Central Florida, please let me know. We have worked with customers in the past - they lend us their bike, we design and build a system for it, they keep the system (no charge) and we only ask for their feedback on the system and how it works. Thanks, Dan MadStad Engineering (352) 848-3646 madstad.com/pages/faq Hey, someone could get a FREE $320 windshield from them ! I would take them up on their offer but I am in Upstate NY. I DO NOT work for Madstad.
  2. Here's some pics of the sliders installed. Took about 30 minutes. Torqued them to no more than 30 ft-lbs (40 nm) per the instructions.
  3. I sent this question to Jason about the correct torque figures for these sliders. I have a question about what torque figure to use when tightening the sliders to the frame of my 2021 Tracer 9 GT. Yamaha recommends 60 nm. Your instructions say "no more than 40 nm". I was just wondering why. I don't want to leave the sliders too loose. Thanks for any help. Leon 40nm is our reccommended torque as any tighter you could end up damaging the bobbin and it mushrooming out at the back. Do NOT tighten these any more than this, we have been doing this 10yrs and on a m10 bolt kit it this is more than ample for the bobbins to be tightened. Yamaha torque settings will be different as with all other manufacturers. Hope this helps 😊 Jason. (Sole proprietor) Regards Jason Stevens Managing Director I'm gonna use Jason's recommendations. Leon I bear NO responsibilty for your choice.
  4. I got them from Ebay. Copy and paste this link: https://www.ebay.com/itm/224456006454?hash=item34429edb36:g:KQ0AAOSwrFtZ90EY I haven't installed mine yet so I do not know how hard it is to install them. I believe this seller still has them in stock. I have a pair of wheel axle sliders already installed on my bike. I had a pair from my Thruxton and they fit with a little modification.
  5. Frame sliders are protectors that protrude from the frame on either side to protect the engine casings from scratches and or damage. See pic. Hope this pic helps.
  6. i've had my 2021 Tracer 9 GT now for about 2 months. Just did the 600 mile break in service and it was easy as pie. The oil looked clean and debris free. Adjusted and lubed the chain, levers and all is good. i'm gonna install the frame sliders as soon as the weather gets a little cooler. The heat index was 105 degrees fahrenheit yesterday ! yikes. More commentary to come.
  7. I'm installing frame sliders on 2021 Tracer 9 GT. Does anybody have the torque figure for the bolt that goes through the slder into the head ?? Thanks !
  8. I put on the Duili screen on my 2021 GT and i concur with this user. I'm sure you'll get many suggestions but you might want to try starting with one of these. Only $27. Hardware is a bit hard to figure out. https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B08HCX4J96/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 A friend put one on his Tracer GT and I rode it and noticed a major decrease in buffeting so I bought one for my Tracer too. Very adjustable for height and angle. You can even tilt it to scoop air into your chest on a hot day. Definitely worth it to me.
  9. I've only got about 200 miles on it but here goes: good stuff 1. Really smooth with just a hint of a buzz to let you know you are riding a motrocycle not a sewing machine. 2. I LOVE the quick shifter ! Never had one before. 3. Seems to handle like a dream. 4. Love the panniers. not so good stuff: A little tall but manageable. Windshield is buffety. Ordered an adjustable wing. Will see if that helps. Brakes are adequate. Could use a little more power. Maybe they will get better with more miles as the pads break in. As I get more miles I'll keep the commentary going.
  10. Just got my new GT and the windscreen SUCKS.The buufeting and noise is really bad. I'm glad i wear earplugs !! Any suggestions for a replacement screen ?? Thanks !!
  11. Any tip over protection recommendations for my 2021 Tracer GT ? Will parts from previous years fit ? Thanks for any help
  12. I'm picking up my new 2021 Tracer 9 GT tomorrow. Been riding since 1966. I'm in the Albany NY area . Needless to say I'm pumped ! Maybe I'll see ya on the road. Be safe.
  13. I'm new on this forum. I am considering the purchase of a 2019 Tracer GT. I've read all the reviews I can find on this bike. Cycle News said and I quote " Longer days will give you the tingles pretty bad with a Tracer 900 GT. The 3 cylinder engine is vibey by nature and you will feel them in your hands and feet if you are riding more than one hour at a time. " As I have never ridden a Tracer GT, is this an accurate statement ? I can't handle handlebar or foot vibration. It puts my hands and feet asleep and makes riding very uncomfortable. Also I'm reading that there is knocking in the front end when you hit a big bump or a pothole. What's that all about ? Any help on these topics would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Leon.
