I've got Olympia riding pants and Scorpian kevlar-lined jeans, but my favorite is a pair of Duluth Trading canvas work pants because the crotch has a gusset for, as they say, "extra freedom of movement".  Keeps my boys happy!  I've traded the pads and kevlar for a well-placed gusset.  https://tinyl.io/4V6W

    My experience is that they not only tolerated but expressed interest in my Tracer; kept asking to hear that triple engine sound!   I maintain my MOA membership, even though I traded my 1200RT for a Tracer, to keep up with their rallies and weekend getaways.

  3. +1 on the Madstad.  Windshields create vacuum, and thus turbulence & helmet buffeting, behind the shield.  Madstad engineered an adjustable (height & angle) mounting system to allow air flow behind the screen, eliminating the vacuum.  

    (Calsci is another company that addresses the vacuum problem).

Well, after messing around with fuses, a continuity tester and a mulitmeter, I found the problem: the TomTom head unit was not fully seated in the Active Dock, so it wasn't making electrical contact.  When I repositioned the unit I had it too low; it was hitting the handlebar thus not allowing it to fully seat.  

    So, what'd I learn?  Check the easy stuff first before getting excited.

  5. Even though I no longer have a BMW, I keep my membership to MOA active for 2 reasons: the rallies and their anonymous book, and the magazine is interesting, too.  The anonymous book is exactly what @nhchris is asking about.  It's printed and a phone app, which is updated lately. 

    (BTW, when I went to a MOA rally last year it seemed everyone was curious about my Tracer and wanted to hear the engine!)

    Hmm... could be an option for me in 10 years when I'm 78.   Of course, it'll be electric, or who knows what, by then!

    Yeah, I use frame sliders, too, for rests.  But, my sliders are back on the mid-frame mount.  So, I can rest my calves on them.  But, I like your idea better, using the front mount location.  Looks like a project this afternoon.

    Yes.  I live on a private lake with access via gravel roads.  I also grew up on a farm and, of course, gravel roads.  My Tracer 900 GT still has OEM tires and it handles fine.  You just need to realize that on gravel roads the bike's front tire will move around a bit.  Let it; don't try to muscle it.  Relax.  The bike wants to stay upright.
