  1. It just mounts on the passenger seat. You just loop the straps around the sub-frame and they stay on the bike and the pack has the metal hooks that attach to the straps connected to the sub-frame. You could just tuck the straps out of the way when not in use. You could install it on a rack as well.
  2. Yeah I guess if you look at it that way there are many other more rare or unpopular bikes. But compared to Harleys, GSXRs, CBRs, and R6s this bike is like a needle in a haystack in my area.
  3. Yeah it's pretty much all cruisers and sport bikes here too. I think it's funny when people call my FJ a crotch rocket. When I bought it my dad asked me why the hell I bought a crotch rocket. I had to explain to him that there are more types of motorcycles than just Harleys and crotch rockets. I think he was surprised because I also have a Harley and he thought I was a Harley or nothing guy like he is.
  4. What's that tail bag you have? It looks much neater than me strapping my backpack down. I've been thinking about buying this one.
  5. I guess it's a good thing for me. That's how I found my 2017 still brand new left over at the end of 2019 for a steep discount.
  6. I would say it's more durable and sturdy than a RAM mount and easier to use. And they have many options for mounting such as, handle bars of any diameter, master cylinder mounts, mirror clamp brackets, and many more. You can buy different mounting brackets for different vehicles and swap the mount between them and the same mount works with all but the largest devices. It also looks much better. IMO, while they're pretty close in terms of versatility I trust the all metal construction of the Tackform more than the plastic construction of the RAM mounts. And the pricing is similar.
  7. I have been wondering why I dont see any other FJ-09/Tracer 900s in my area. It's such a great bike, especially for the price. I dont get it. The only reason I even found out about it is because I spotted what was apparently the only other FJ-09 in this city and liked the looks so started researching and now I have one. Nobody i know that rides had heard of it before seeing mine either. I bought it last September but I deployed a week later and didn't get back until January to really put it through its paces but holy cow I freaking love this bike. So did Yamaha just not market this bike very well in the U.S. or what? What do you guys think?
  8. I rarely do product reviews but I think this phone mount deserves one. It's such a great product at a very reasonable price. I spent days looking for a phone mount that is sturdy, able to be used with nearly every phone, has pretty much unlimited mounting options, looks decent on the bike, and wont break the bank. The Tackform mount checks all the boxes beautifully. I'm not going to go over all the details because if you just look them up this mount does everything they claim on their site, at least in my experience. I have been using it for a couple months now and so far have not had a single problem. I can see this thing lasting a very long time. For $60 on amazon it's a great deal. In my opinion it puts RAM mounts to shame. Anyway, if any of you guys are looking for an awesome phone mount check these out. I don't think you will be disappointed. BTW, I am in no way affiliated with Tackform.
  9. I would also like to see the brackets. This has been my solution so far. It's cheap and easy but limited to only what I can fit in my backpack. Rok Straps are awesome though.
  10. Yep. I agree on all points. Although the traffic here in Abilene isn't quite as bad as the DFW area.
  11. Thanks. I'm in Abilene stationed at Dyess AFB.
  12. Hello everyone, I just became a proud owner of a galaxy blue 2017 FJ-09. It is (or was until today) still brand new with 3 miles on it and I got a pretty good discount. I also have a 2012 Harley Davidson Wide Glide and I love it but I wanted to add something a little more sporty to the garage and i dont regret it. I just got done with a 440 mile ride which confirmed that I made the right decision after months of research. This bike is so much fun! I can't wait to be done breaking it in so I can see what it can do.
