  1. Defarkeling my Tracer 900gt for a trade in. First up are few things that shouldn't go with the bike. I'd rather they get to someone that appreciates them.

CPU reflashed by Ivan's Performance. I personally can't compare it to anyone else's but I really can't see how this could be improved on. Absolutely flawless fueling, top end restrictions removed, rpm restriction increased by 300 rpm, cruise control restrictions removed( cruise through a school zone in 1st or 2nd gear at 20mph). He will unflash it for free should you ever want that. He can also make adjustments for different intake and exhausts- probably not free though. Plenty of tech data and performance info on his website.

$125 and your cpu. He's now charging $350 for this.

Next up is the Penske/Traxxion Dynamics suspension. This was set up for a 200 lb. rider and leans toward the sport side of the sport touring equation. If you're a lot heavier or lighter you can talk to Dan at TD about some heavier or lighter springs-very helpful and knowledgeable guy.It has about 14,000 miles on it.

On the front it would really save us both a lot of work to do a fork swap. Send me $550 and your fork tubes and I'll send you my forks with the Traxxion Dynamics parts installed and the stock fork internals in a box. The parts from TD are $1500 plus shipping.

Penske 8983 shock with remote reservoir. $550 plus shipping. This is $1315 plus shipping from TD.

If you want both ends I'll let them go for $1000 and I'll pick up the shipping on the shock.

Seat Concepts. I have a Seat Concepts comfort foam and cover kit on the stock pan. I can send you the foam and cover as it came from SC for $125 plus shipping or we could do a seat swap. This is $270 at SC. They also sell a matching cover (but no foam) for the passenger seat but I didn't get that.

More to come but I'm tired of typing right now.

  2. Seems like an awesome bike and I'll probably get one if they ever get here, but why did they have to make it look like one of my grandsons transformer toys and then paint it like an Amazon delivery truck?. Hopefully it will look a little better irl than it does in the pix. If yamaha can get riders away from  Ducati why can't they gey a designer or two?

I decided to start a new thread because I'm having some weird cruise control issues that I haven't seen described  anywhere else. Everything works exactly as it should- in 6th gear only. This will work at any speed and any rpm. It goes right into cruise mode, stays in as long as I  want it to, comes right out when I use any of the canceling modes, and changes speed up and down with the buttons. In any other gear, the green light comes on, it goes into cruise mode just as it should and then anywhere from a couple of seconds to a few minutes the green light goes out and cruise stops.

I had Ivan do a reflash and before this started and for a few weeks it worked as Ivan said it would - cruise at any speed and in any gear. I can't see anything changing inside the box so I'm sure that the problem isn't there.

I've taken off the Evotech levers and put the stockers back on, adjusted the rear brake light switch, and had the front one replaced by a dealer. I pulled and cleaned the gear indicator switch and that didn't help.  I thought about replacing it but it's  $175. That would be okay if I was sure it was the problem.

Thanx in advance for your thoughts.

Finally got this problem solved. It was time for a new chain so while I had it apart I put the original front sprocket back on.(had gone up a tooth) I only did it because I tried everything else. I have no explanation for it but the cc now works in every gear and at any speed or rpm.

  4. I just finished off a set of Roadsmart 3s. I was super happy with the performance and got record mileage, for me. (over 8 k). I was going to get another set but they seem to be getting hard to find. I'm guessing that they're phasing them out in favor of the Roadsmart 4s. I'm sure it's a much better tire but it's also about a hundred bucks more. Everyone seems to like the T32s so I'm giving them a try. We'll have to see about milage.

  5. I've got a 34" inseam and 67 year old knees. My main objective was to get more room between the seat and the pegs. A couple forum members wrote that this seat sat a little higher than the stocker so I decided to give it a try. While it sits higher,  it is also softer so with my 200+ pounds pushing down on it I didn't gain anything in the seat to peg distance.

  6. Selling a Bagster seat for the Tracer 900gt. It has the red stitching that matches the 2020 paint job. As near as I can tell that's not available anymore. It also has the Bultex foam upgrade. I took it out for 1 ride and decided it wasn't going to work for me so it's a brand new seat. If you want to save about $70 and a month or so wait I will ship it to you for $250 (lower 48). Located in Wilmington, IL. More pics available.

  7. Thank you for all of the in depth replies. Sounds like I should give them a try. Always looking for a premium tire at a good price. Running roeadsmart 3s right now. Got about 4500 right now and might squeeze another 1k out of them. That's on the rear.  The front still looks pretty good.

micah2074, Hope you made out better than the bike.

  8. Has anyone worn out a set of the Bridgestone Battletour T32s on their 9gt yet. They get really good reviews and I was thinking of putting a set on my 2020. I'm wondering about mileage. Rocky mountain has a great price right now. Thanks

  9. It's a lot better than stock but I'm still wishing that I would have went with a custom right off the bat. I've got it in the hi front and lower back position so it looks kind of funky with the big gap at the tankbut that takes about all the forward slope out. I've always liked Seat Concepts but I wish they would have offered a taller option with this seat.

You'll like  Ivan. Very easy to work with. Let me know if you want to try out the reflash before you get it. Im really happy with it.

I hope you have better luck with Seth Laam than I did. No complaints about the seat but the 5 months before that were a nightmare.

  10. I didn't know there was a Chicago area riders thread. I'm pretty pathetic when it comes to online stuff- especially in the summer.  I'll definitely check that out though.

I live about and hour straight east of Starved Rock so I'm out there all the time. Pretty nice ride from here. I  can also tell you about some nice rides in that area. I hear what you're saying about that traffic filled no mans land between the north and south regions of the Chicago area though.

Very sorry to hear that you're out of action for now and looking forward to riding with you  next spring.

  11. Yeah it's a real stumper. The switch doesn't have any moving parts - all it does is indicate gear position and it does that just fine. As for the reflash, he needed to hook the box up to a computer to change values inside. He did that and it worked like it was supposed to. You would think that you'd have to go back in the box for anything to change again.

On a different note, I finally got that Seat Concepts saddle. We'll have to get together and check out each others seats. Uh hope that didn't sound too weird.
