  1. Any noticeable improvement in comfort?
I've purposely not responded to this until I had a couple of weeks and a few hundred miles on it to reply.
I can honestly say the difference is rather big in my opinion. After ~250 miles of commuting daily I will say the seat is MUCH more comfortable than before. It took me a couple days to get used to it. Added height and a different feel for sure, I find I can actually move around on the seat easier now, and the pad (surprisingly, I might add) stays right in place when I do this. I was worried it may move about, but the strap actually holds it quite well.

It's cooler in the summer heat, too. Seems counter to what you'd expect, but the wool traps air, which helps keep your butt cooler. Needless to say it's far more cushy on top of the stock seat, and although I have not run over 100 miles in one stint yet, my butt tells me this will be very good on long days with 300+ miles in the saddle.

    Highly recommended.

Now I have to ask which model/shape you purchased? looks to form to the seat nicely.
  2. I have a Dainese Frazer jacket for riding. They don't make it anymore but I purchased it in Calgary like 5+yrs ago and its still going strong!

Its worked very well for me, and has enough venting to keep me cool up to 30-35 Celsius or about 90-95F as long as your moving.
I have it paired with a pair of the Dainese D-Dry pants which have the removable wind/waterproof liner. I've ridden in a good down pour a couple times and while I was wet right through the jacket, I was dry below the waist.

  3. Just added these 2” [strong]‘blind-spot’ mirrors,[/strong] which are invaluable for greatly improving rearward vision. I’ve fitted them on all my bikes over the years – well worth every cent of the $4.70 cost - and only a five-day wait from the on-line vendor..P1030688r.jpg

The mirror extenders like these or similar also work well, but at a higher cost:http://koubalink.com/mirror.html
I went with the similar but smaller 1-1/4 inch size from BikeMaster link

    Here's a pic.

  4.
    Finally got the X-grip tether part# Ram-HOL-UN10TU
It also come in a few sizes depending on you phones dimensions.

Its a silicon/rubber that fits behind the X-grip cradle and stretches over the corners of the phone to further secure it in the mount.
I've never had the phone fall out or even slide in the grip while on the FJ, but I am glad I will no longer have to worry about that with this added security.

(Also works excellent for the mountain bike as pictured, the FJ is already tucked in for the winter. :(
