2ballde Posted April 1, 2016 Share Posted April 1, 2016 The Motion Pro damper rod tool ( 08-0117) that is supposed to replace Yamaha tool YM-01423 is too short to work on the FJ fork. After it engages the splines on the damper rod it is completely inside the fork tube.To use it you must make a second tool to engage the the top splines on the tool. pattonme Posted April 2, 2016 Share Posted April 2, 2016 yes, ask me how I know... On most other track bikes the fork is short enough for the tool to stick out. One generally doesn't need this tool since the bolt isn't in there too tight, however. Racetech makes a similar item which is hopefully long enough.
